- The Antiques Dealer in Forge of Empires
On the outskirts of your city, just next to your Friend's Tavern, you will soon see a brand new collection of tents which house the Antiques Dealer and his auction house. It started on the Beta Server already and will be soon available in the player worlds.
The Antiques Dealer buy items of your inventory which have succumbed to the dust of ages past. InnoGames says that the Antiques Dealer loves to collect artifacts from Forge's history, and will pay a pretty penny for the rarest finds! The Antiques Dealer becomes available when you unlock the technology Economics in the tech tree, a technology of the Early Middle Ages.
When you enter the Antiques dealer you will first see his offers. Of course he wants to sell to you. Many of his items you know already from previous events. The Sakura Rock upgrade for example kit could be an object becoming interesting for many players. The offered items change every 12 hours.
But before you can buy it, you first need the two currencies the Antiques dealer accepts: Trade Coins and Gemstones.
Beside the shop there always is an auction. If you are willing to offer more than the previous bidder, you can place your bid. The number of trade coins will be substracted from your inventory immediately. In case someone else bids more than you, they will be returned to you, else you will receive the desired item when the auction ends.
You can earn both, Trade Coins and Gemstones by selling items from your inventory. On the right side you see a hand. Click on it and you come to the room where the Antiques dealer buys from his clients. Select an item from your inventory that you no longer need and sell it to the Antiques Dealer. The Antiques Dealer will show you how many Trade Coins he will be willing to pay for that item. More valuable items will also provide you with a chance to earn rare and coveted Gemstones. You can increase the output of your exchange by taking more time to barter with the dealer, or accept a lower output to quickly earn your Trade Coins and Gemstones! Choose from 2, 8 or 24 hours to breakdown your items. I highly recommend to not be inpatient, especially in the beginning of that new feature. Better decide for the 24 hour option and receive the best price for your item. Never forget that this game will still take very long.
You can also boost your output from the breakdown with Diamonds! This provides you the highest prices immediately. But you pay for that advantage with diamonds. Think twice if being inpatient is really worth that.
I click on the plus sign at the top and chose a Sacred Skywatch that I won in the guild expedition. Initially I only can offer one item at a time. After you sold the first 10 items, a second slot will become available and even more later on. The more you use the feature, the more efficient your breakdowns can be!
To be able to make this video as soon as possible, I decided the shortest 2 hour duration for my first breakdown. You see how the price would change based on different time spans. I pressed 'Barter' and returned 2 hours later to collect my Trade Coins and Gemstones.
Instead of entering the Antiques Dealer for selling items, you can also open your inventory. Instead of the former 'delete from inventory' button you now find the exchange button which brings you to the same room of the Antiques dealer. What a great use for all my Faces of the Ancient and Gates of the Sun God. In the future I will be happy to receive these in the guild expedition. They now can bring me Trade Coins and Gemstones.
If you change you mind, you can click cancel up to the point the timer runs out! Doing so will return the item to your inventory, so don't worry, you wont lose anything (except time) if you change your mind.
This is a great new feature, much better than the theater that once was planned to be in that location. We will all be happy to visit the Antiques Dealer soon.

A very rare thing to see nowadays. This is why i still play this game even after almost 2 years which is a rare thing considering how many similar games are out there

@@lambnugget3246 not really. they listen when it's about new ideas and skin changes but never with game balance which is the most important part of the game. junglers are crying about reverting scuttle changes, top laners are suffering from low res items and mages/jayce/riven being unbeatable, adc are begging to nerf shields and poke supports and assassins mid are unplayable for almost 2 seasons now.

Balancing isn't easy, what might work for balance in bronze could break the game in challenger and visa-versa.
Example of something that Rito would have to consider after hearing just 2 balance complaints & as a Riven main, I can tell you these are legit complaints.
Bronze player - Garen is too strong for Riven, please nerf Garen or buff Riven
Diamond player - Riven is too strong for Garen, please nerf Riven or buff Garen
You are Rito, what change do you make? keeping in mind that any changes will have a ripple effect and impact every match-up of whichever champ you change, so you have to rebalance all 140+ of those match ups too

This is an amazing expansion from inno games. Wow I am very impressed how the company continues to think of everything I could want or think of to improve their great game. We all have many valuable items we cannot use, but want to sell them at a big yard sale, Haha. Thank you inno.
Boy am I glad I didn't delete any old items, because I was really tempted to do so on many occasions.
I think it would be reasonable to use 2-hour intervals for first ten (cheapest) items to sell, to unlock second slot ASAP.

Gem is pronounced with a soft-g sound, pronounce it as if it were spelled like jem. Can't wait for the antiques dealer!

Germany. Look at the name of the current Prime Minister Angela Merkel. It is not pronounced Ann-jella, but rather Ahn-gela, even when spoken in English.
@@davidlove3088 hey there, regardless, that doesn't change the proper pronunciation within English. Being myself a philologist (and my family being German, so yes, I do know the German pronunciation of the word too), I understand where you are coming from, and I think what is most useful for those of us that enjoy speaking multiple languages is not to bicker on why you think you should be allowed to pronounce it incorrectly, but to help educate and encourage each other with the correct pronunciation.

If u have contacts at the higher echelon of foe can u recommend them to do something with the achievements. They currently don’t do any good other than satisfying one’s ego.
Glad i can finally start clearing junk and old items (from 4-5+ eras below my current), though it would probably be months of running non-stop 2 hour breakdowns with all the junk i have but never plan to use. But for a minute i was hoping they finally gave something useful to burn my extra gold/supplies on. 250m gold and 22M supplies. it's been whittling down lately since a lot of quests want hundreds of thousands of coins or supplies donated, but if i wasn't so lazy (not always keeping my factories running) i would still be increasing over time. Maybe someday

If u re looking for FP’s, no motivation and less road required buildings; TF’s are best, except event buildings.
And professional players doesn’t use any buildings for goods, waste of space.

A C yea I have two down...I use CF and clockmakers in CA for goods. And then the rest of my city is fp buildings all I’m saying is I use better fp event buildings with more value per tile even including the road.
A good adition to the game. Would be better for me if unlocks in iron age. I have more than one city in this age (diamond farming).
Me and my pile of TFs are also crying in this age.

I'm going to assume whenever you rearrange your city and want to get rid of items you will still need "store item" to place in inventory to then sell in the antiques dealer...shame you won't be able to place them directly in to the antiques dealer without using valuable store items ! But generally a good idea ...

Nice video, but you posted a little too quickly, it was only the first timer that is 12 hours, the items you can buy are on a 24 hour timer, as I just logged in and it showed 15+ hours remaining.
The other thing, face and sun are handy for those gain happiness quest, but its good everything except, fragments, and FP packages can be sold, finely get rid of those coin boosts.
What is the reason for the unlock at EMA? I'll be staying in IA for months

That is an amazing new feature. Giving players an option to basically trade their unwanted items for something valuable it awesome. I have a ton of items that I will be happy to sell for something useful. When exactly is this coming to the main game?

Event buildings yes, as long as they are in your inventory
Some things in the inventory cannot be sold, but still deleted: e g Forge Point packs. :-)
What about normal buildings like a business center, aqueduct, city park, etc.?

Can you buy buildings past your current age, like event or goods buildings ? If so, this could be a good way to gather goods for a GB past your own age.

Knowing innogames the way they are, this will NOT be an allowed function on the non-beta gaming platform unless diamonds are necessary at any and all points to function in the dealers shop. It is far too convenient otherwise.
Actually the opposite seems true of events.
They are slightly harder to complete on beta than the public servers, they also give away more diamonds on beta.
Inno is making more than ever, they dont really need to fund new ways to get us to spend or buy diamonds, they just need to keep ppl interested and playing, it seems like they are at least trying to keep things interesting

When is this update!? When!? Would be better if players are pitted against equal "weight classes" of players, so my one city of 2 years doesn't have to trade against someone with 6 cities who has 8k diamonds and has been playing for 5 years.

@@XXveny I see several level 1 buildings listed on the AD wiki page with an "Antiques Dealer sells for" price including Pillar of Heroes and Grand Bridge, so my guess is yes. Pretty expensive to start from scratch though.

So someone who played this game for years will have 1000 face of the ancient. Another player playing for years just deleted his 1000 faces before learning about this. He's going to kick himself now. In any case the bids from the pvp bidding will all go to those who played for a long time and saved all their useless stuff and they may also be interested in the 2h feature to turn their massive stock into something useful now rather than over 3 years.

no, but after bartung a few items, you get a second slot. Then you can bart 2 items, later up to 4.

5fp a day is really the only way to go... IA TF makes 5fp the same as any age, but requires significantly less population.
IA TF is the best TF!

@@tails183 no one... so use them to make 5 fp each a day?
Tf is a terrible use of space if you're making goods, especially IA goods, like you said... but they're a pretty good source of fp... unlike goods, fp are all ages and all ages of Tf make 5 goods per day.
Check the stats, population required for IA TF is 130.
It roughly doubled each age up... a TF from HMA requires 500 pop... still gives 5fp a day tho

The ritual flames are actually useful though.
ritual flames are useless to me, you either have a lot or they won't make a difference, and i'd rather use space toproduce more rather than caring about defense.
