The Philippine government should develop this area to a proper tourist destination. So rich in history I gather. Enjoyed your video and thank you to you and the rest of your group.

I saw lots of updating and construction when I visited last week. They are preparing for the eventual full time return of tourists! And thank you, more Corregidor videos coming soon, including a new one this morning 😁

I visited Corregidor many, many moons ago before it was open to the public and before the scrappers had vandalised the island. At the time I was a guest of Philippine Naval Intelligence.
It was a grey, pocked-marked landscape, devoid of any greenery or growth and it's vistas gave both justice and honor to the carnage that took place there, and those who passed. Many parts of the island were still restricted at that time due to unexploded ordnance and unexplored, partially collapsed tunnels. Here and there were white crosses to mark where remains has been discovered so that they could be repatriated.
Even as a Vietnam combat veteran, I was shocked by what I saw as it was truly descriptive.
I again visited in the 80s and was saddened to see how it had become more of a Disney production than a memorial to the dead and a lesson regarding the futility of war.
To those planning a visit I would recommend reading up on it's history to put things in perspective. An interesting place.

I have heard there are snakes on the island but thankfully have never seen one, once! Only cave spiders and lizards (tuko!) 😊

Just curious one of your bidy knows the story out there? He might be one of those survivor?

There are not many veterans left, sadly. My friends and I are all historians and history enthusiasts. You can read detailed accounts of the events that happened on Corregidor in many books. It's quite fascinating.

    壁の日本語らしきもの、読めないな。「年」「下」「中」「吉」「宇」らしき漢字があるが…
    情報秘匿で傷を付けたのか?
