Easy to access. Very nice Houttuynia roots. I grow both of these plants but they are still very young so I will have to wait a little longer before I harvest from them. I look forward to that day. We have Angelica plants that grow in Canada but the variety is more of a woody biennial or perennial. We can use most parts of the plant for a variety of uses.

@@mapuiasailo8246 I guess it is called Toona sinensis. It is found in jungles, the tender shoots are red brown colour and when it's boiled, it release a very strong smell. We boil and make it into chutney with fermented fish or fry it with dried meat.

I agree. We can even grow it here in Canada and in the United States. I do not think it is a native plant though, they would be something we would have to buy and plant. I hope to taste it someday.

We call those heart shaped plants fish herbs. It’s commonly eaten in the Vietnamese cuisine. Smells and taste just like fish. We eat the leaves though, never the roots. It’s a fast spreading perennial. Tried the roots once since I got inspired by some many Chinese dishes, but the roots were too potent for me. I prefer the leaves😋
