As a fellow foster kid I stand with Simeon on whatever she wishes to do. Her parents, for whatever reason, choose to end the relationship. My mom was also an addict and struggled but even after she lost custody she never ghosted me or my little sister for more than a year. Same with my bio father who was in prison most of my childhood. Neither ever forced me to "make the first move" and I'm very grateful for that. Her mom coming around at the most stressful time in her life isn't going to help with any kind of reconciliation.
Of course it's about money. Do we honestly think she would be looking to have a relationship with her if she was broke?

Oh man "SHOUT OUT TO GRANDPARENTS" I'm a 52 y.o. black man who a short rough patch in my life, I was a single parent and literally drowning in the ocean of "LIFE" but thanks to God, hard work and my son's grandparents (my parents) we made through. There is absolutely NOTHING my son wouldn't do for his grandparents, quite honestly I think he would protect them over me and I for don't have a problem with that! My grandad from my mom's side was my best friend growing up, he moved in with us in '79 when my grandmother passed on and I loved to death, man I miss him! Anyways Simone has nothing to be ashamed of, she knows who raised her is the reason she has what she has, thank you PBL, great content.

What folk fail to realize is that forgiveness and reconciliation DO NOT have to hold hands. Forgiveness doesn’t mean that the person who hurt you now has free access to u. It means that YOU have FREED YOURSELF from a debt they owe and you don’t OWE them anything but that.
