Goes to show she's one of those with way too much money at her "disposal."
Knowing she can get rescued, why not go a 3rd time? Why should she care about anybody else being in danger or needing rescued?
I don't think the Tibetan side is so willing to rescue climbers.
She might not want to blow off checking with their government directly on this. She may find herself dying and then dead.

Sherpa is synonymous with expert mountaineer guide. Seems ignorant to impose a judgement on the woman (re: comments). Any professional that we hire like a surgeon, professor etc we might respectfully say "my ____" with implied respect. Also she would not want to name the hired expert who left her in a precarious life/death situation, showing reserve. People are so quick to assume without "knowing". It's a good thing to broaden our quick judgments with other perspectives imo. FYI The Nepal government collected $5.08 million in revenue from Everest alone spring 2023 climbing season. Let's hope improvements, to counteract negative impacts, will continue through calls to specific needed action.

Knowing when to turn back because of unsafe conditions. Recognizing your body is on the brink of exhaustion and turning around even if the summit is just 300 meters away has everything to do with experience and awareness. Not to mention the countless other examples I could use. Nobody can control an avalanche. But experience will teach you to recognize hazards that are within your power to overcome.

They have many ladders permently placed across dangerous crevis's and steep slick areas to make it easier and hopefully have fewer deaths. There are ladders and also ropes permently placed in the most challenging areas. The brave climbers who where the first or very early climbers if Everest had none of the infrastructure when they made the climb. I've absolutely no sympathy for the climbers they know the risk that they take. I do however care about the mountains and all the crap that they leave behind these mountains like Mount Everest that was once so beautiful is now just a mountain of crap a giant dump site. These mountain should be closed to the people now and just be left to nature.

With all of the dangers set before us, WHY would one be willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars to risk their lives and the Sherpas lives?

The mountain’s are beautiful I get it. But some Sherpa people don’t have a choice that’s all they know that’s all they can do to get money for there family. Rich people pay to get them to the top for their own reasons . They know the risk don’t risk other life’s to save or retrieve a body. I seen something the other day the media mad a villain out of a guy that didn’t have any legs there was like 40 people that walked past the guy in green boots cave . Sad all the way around

The problem is commercial Everest tour packages allow for some mediocre mountaineers.......who just so happen to be rich.
I look at them and they often look like a beer leaugue softball team. Not inspiring.
You need to be training like youre going to fight the heavyweight champion.
4 weeks of acclimation aint good enough . You need to be in peak cardio shape and strong enough to haul your equipment.
Id say 6 months heavy training for a seriously accomplished mountaineer, and a year for those less than inspiring candidates.
The rule of the mountain says that once you are descending, its realistically inpossible to rescue a climber in distress.
Seems to me, some of these hobbyists just dont take any of this seriously.
If you run into trouble in the Dead Zone, above 8000 meters......youre done....the rule of thumb is leave you behind because everyone is completely spent and running low on oxygen and its a race against time to descend before nightfall. minutes count. Rescue is not realistic in vast majority of cases.
