    ERROR: at time 14:52, Vx should be 9e^ - 0.25t V (instead of 9e^ -0.5t V),
    similarly ix should be 0.75 e^ -0.25t (instead of 0.75e^ -0.5t)
    This video explains source free RC circuits in very simple way. Here we discuss examples 7.1 and 7.2 and also solve practice problems 7.1 and 7.2.
    A source-free RC circuit occurs when its dc source is disconnected. The energy stored in the capacitor is released to the resistors.
    Consider a series combination of a resistor and an initially charged
    capacitor,
    Example 7.1: In Fig. 7.5, let vc(0) = 15 V, Find vc, vx, and ix
    Practice problem 7.1 : Refer to the circuit in Fig. 7.7. Let vc(0)=60V. Determine vc, vx, and I0.

    Aslam o Alaikum Sir
    I am hoping you are doing well. This is the first lecture i watched on recommendation of senior and than goes on....
    Thanks alot for your supoort throughout my degree especially in COVID when i have no one to help in studies, i found you. Watching your videos boosted my confidence and academic performance.
    I recently graduate in june 2023 with job and Master opportunities in hand, i must say you're one of those professors i got during my studies who left life lasting impact on my life. What i learnt from you that no matter you know someone personally or not always do your best to help, i always try my best to opt your this attitude of helping others.
    JazakAllah Sir for your all kind of support.

    in example 2 why did you change the value from 12 ohm to 20 ohm and then back to 12 ohm when doing vx?

    • @ruffsandtruffs5327
      @ruffsandtruffs5327 4 месяца назад

      and also why did the value go from 15e^t/0.4 to the 0.4 changing into 0.25?

      Right arm has two resistors 8 ohm and 12 ohm, sum of these is 20 ohm 🤔

  • @WillWinarno
    @WillWinarno Год назад

    For the final example, when finding vx, arent we supposed to use the original resistance 6 ohm instead of the adjusted resistance 4 ohms?

    • @ElectricalEngineeringAcademy
      @ElectricalEngineeringAcademy  Год назад

      If you look at the diagram carefully, you will notice that Vx is not the voltage only across 6 ohm resistor but it is also across 12 ohm resistor, so it is easier to calculate vx across 6 ||12 ohm i.e 4 ohm. You can try to find only across 6ohm by solving two mesh equations, which will off-course be lengthy and you will get the same answer.

      @@bilalabdulla7670 Many students have same question as you have. You will never come across most of the things that you study in engineering. But what we do is try form a base (of knowledge) in students, so they will be able to solve any real life engineering problems, with just little study. So keep focussed, work hard, get good grade.

    For example 2, how can we find vx other then by voltage division?

    • @ElectricalEngineeringAcademy
      @ElectricalEngineeringAcademy  5 лет назад +2

      By ohms law ix =Vc/(8+12), now Vx =ix (12). Also by KVL find ix from , -Vc + 8ix +12ix = 0, then Vx= 12ix. By the way you do you hate voltage division ?

      Just take daily life example. Say there are 3 boys and 2 girls. divide Rs 100 hundred in them. what will be 2 girls share. [100/(3+2)]x2. Total money divided by total people and then multiplied by number of girls (in electrical engineering, total voltage divide by total resistance, multiplied by resistance across which voltage is to be calculated)
