  • This was our first time pulling an engine! We are proud that it only took us 3 short evenings with minimal issues.
    We will be swapping in a 2.4L VVT I4 Ecotec engine from 2008-2012 GM cars. The kit we will be purchasing here in the next few weeks is from www.ecotecmiata.ca, the owner is super friendly and willing to answer all of our silly questions. We are feeling really good about our choice in engine/swap kit.
    We plan to vlog the entire process so stay tuned! Comment any questions you have!!

    I’m sorry for the ignorant question but why did you pull just the engine and not both engine/transmission? Would that involve lifting the car off the “backbone” chassis?

      @@ChadGeidel we didn’t pull the transmission because 1. I am keeping it in the car and 2. If I pulled it, I would have had to realign the power plant frame. We figured this was the best option, and honestly I think it turned out well. No real issues with leaving the trans in other than the starter bolts being hard to get to
