Good advice here Joel, the problem I had was that my compressor couldn't keep up with a sander like this so I bought a cheap rotary polisher and used that for paint stripping, the downside is they mate a lot of mess with dust everywhere🙏👍John UK
There are electric versions of this tool as well. Festool (Rotex) , Bosch (GET75-6N) and Makita (BO6050J) all make gear driven 6" sanders. On these sanders you have a switch that changes the sander from Random orbit to Gear Driven.

Where did you get that backing plate i need them
I used one of those to strip a vette with 6 paints and lots of evercoat took me like 8 hrs
