Doug I can feel your pain. I worked for a general contractor for 38 years. When you dealt with the state you always found different rules. I would bet if you went down the hwy and got a different inspector on site it would be a whole different problem. That is why road contractors constantly pulling their hair out.
Oh boy...I can relate to Chet's conversation. I had a garage that was supposed to go up this fall...now here come winter and the workers didn't show up after the concrete was poured last week! I don't want winter so soon! I can relate to Dougo's road building project, too. I bought my house late summer and found out after the purchase that the road was rebuilt this spring in front of the house and all of the 100 yards of landscape sprinkler irrigation heads that had been on the property along the road for 15-plus years are now paved over with asphalt. The road got shifted toward my house when it was rebuilt and the sprinkler heads did not get moved.
It’s not just there in MN….TX DOT finally cleaned my bar-ditch-first time since 2002 and they made it uphill to the creek. Water now flows opposite direction and ditch floods. I bypassed any paperwork and was tired of calling and dug a trench with my box blade. County drainage man stopped and watched for a while and I was waiting for a discussion, but he left. I was ready with their line “state highway and we have nothing to do with it”. Nice job by the way.

Speaking of Turkeys. RFK just did a video of him deep frying a turkey in Beef Lard / Tallow, the old school way. He dropped that turkey into the hot oil in his bare feet like a pro. It was a site to behold.

The tampon Tim umbrella still fully extended in Minnesota. Dare you to follow the money with that contractor. Contractor should have a bond where negligent construction fixed by others is paid for. Next year where voter ID requirements is passed should change the lonely cheater state to Red. Much ❤ from 🇨🇦
So- nobody was inspecting the road and subsequent ditch work done three years ago? That’s my take. Lol. I think every state could use our own DOGE when all the federal DOGE dust settles!
So in other words the state engineer never should of signed off on the ditch grade when it was built. The swamp comes in all shapes and sizes, what a mess
Neat to see the coyote tracks sure they're look for a pheasant dinner. Are friends in Nelson always send us pheasant pictures. Glad you got a digging permit when I worked for Koch Pipeline a farmer with a backhoe hit a 8 in ammonia line which wasn't pretty.

Doug is a great excavator operator. If he ever wanted to run a excavation company he would have been good

DOT didn't fix that damage tile right because they would have to do more work and manhours. They passed the cost to you!!
