Our instructor, for 5 days, had us hitting this every morning for our daily warm-up.😂 Then he told us it was called Valentin after the 1st man who died on it......nice 🤣
Went down this on rental skis a few years back so I feel your pain about bad edges! One of the most terrifying blacks I have ever been down, more so than Harikiri or The Swiss Wall
Thanks to a bad storm that hit Maine, many big trees down, power, phone, and internet were down for a week and the land line phone is still down. The internet is back which gives me a bunch of your videos to watch. I thought last season you decided to get a file and sharpen your skis before hitting those scratchy slopes. Bit of a comedown after Zermatt. On to the next video.
I still need to purchase one of those edge sharpeners. I was left with one pair of skis as the other pair had a hole next to the edge so I thought better not to ski on them until they are serviced. Both are serviced now, ready for the new year... Glad all is coming back online after the storm, sounds pretty severe... glad you are fine...
Woww this is my happy place ❤. What device shows the slope inclination, speed and other parameters in your video? If you write me back, I will be grateful 🙏.
Well skied, I've been here before, these runs to the resort are tricky especially when icy. Skidding and wondering when the skid will ease 😂.... Looks like ski patrol should have closed this run 😳😳
You seem such a fanatical skier that it is is really worth investing in your own waxing and sharpening material. It is very easy to do yourself and I find it quite enjoyable. Put your favorite music on and there you go 😊 (thanks for all your great videos btw, really enjoy them and therefore I subscribed) What did you think of les 2 Alpes? i skied it 20 years ago and mostly remember very long queues to get up the pistes. Didn’t like it at all.
Thanks for the tips and sub! You are right, I should at least invest in a sharpening tool to keep my edges in order. I'll look for some after season. Les2alpes was better than expected. It has some really long runs, and I'm planning to go again next season once the new gondola opens, which should reduce the queues. Enjoy! :-)
This was the start of the season, my skis were not serviced, the piste was steep and icy. I didn't want to risk falling and injury, so I had to be cautious...
@@ChasingSnowgood video but you shouldn’t blame your skis. The way you were skiing it doesn’t matter how snap the edges, they won’t hold. I’m not by any stretch of the imagination saying you didn’t ski it well, just maybe stop blaming your equipment and try and ski it better on your own merit regardless of equipment.
@@oscarhobby7959 I really didn't want to risk it on this slope being so early in the season and potentially injuring myself... so really played it safe... I just felt my edges were a little too blunt for the control I wanted... I'll try this one again next opportunity... thanks for your feedback...
@@ChasingSnow no fair enough. As I said you skied it well but you’ve just done it again, there’s no need to blame your equipment. sharper edges are obviously always useful but only if you can utilise them. You skied it relatively well, so I don’t see why you need to keep saying your skis were rubbish?

Wow, I didn't know that...

Yes, I had a feeling that if I slipped, there's no stopping until I hit something at the bottom... the snow was on the icy side...
Wow! Frightful, Captain! Ice, brings back a bit of terror... You handled it well! Bravo! 🌨🌧🌨
Steep and icy, not really my favourite ;-)
I also been in 2alpes and I did jandri 1 and the diable
Nice, I'm sure you had a great time... :-)

Awesome vid, I subscribed 👍
Thanks for the sub!

GPS info from gopro and virb edit to display it...
epic!
Cheers!

It's a long way down if you slip... I didn't see too many people try it...
Looked to me that it was closed, he just ignored the sign and ducked the rope at the top.

Suffice to say I will not be doing that run myself, and especially not on rental standard skis.
Didn't want to risk ending my season early on this one...
@@ChasingSnow Sensible decision. No medals for being over ambitious in skiing.
4:00 достаточно крутая трасса. Ты ещё в конце и сумел скорость набрать

Its above your level... be careful
Icy conditions and ski edges were not sharp enough so didn't risk it... too early in the season...
I think I would’ve stayed in bed
Valentin is not so difficult in reality.
Yeah, if my skis were in good order I think I would have enjoyed it....

I've seen a grown man cry after bum sliding down that...😂
Exactly what I was trying to prevent by being so cautions ;-)
