    The striking H-King Yak-11 is an impressive 1450mm wingspan scale RC plane that has impeccable handling characteristics and looks stunning in the air. It is available in two color schemes: an authentic commemorative Russian WW2 scheme, and a colorful, racy-looking fantasy air races scheme. The differences do not stop there though, both have different power trains, one for torque, and one for speed.
    The H-King Yak-11 has a lot of outstanding features including CNC machined fully functioning oleo struts with gear doors, LED landing lights, and navigational lights (a full list of features are below). Both versions come "Plug N Fly" with motor, ESC, and high power metal-geared servos factory installed. Construction of the Yak-11 is the popular strong and tough EPO foam, and it also has scale working split flaps, and a servoless retract system.

    I have been wanting the Taft version for a really long time but didnt care for the shotty hardware. Looks like Hobby King fixed all those issues have been worked out!! Loving this!! Would prefer the racer version but the noisy prop means that it needs more pitch!! Add a couple points in pitch to make it sound more like the warbird version and it will really scream!! Good job guys!! I will have to get this one!!

      @@reckemroysrc3764 watch the air races. You hear a different sound which is the prop actually biting. AT-6s make a loud noise but look at how slow they go? Why? Innefficient prop. I like my planes to have a good sound but make good use of the bite.

  • @andycraig8610
    @andycraig8610 2 года назад

    Sorry to say this is the first hobbyking plane I have had real problems with. I have the warbird version , and had some build problems mainly caused by components fitted incorrectly at factory, but these were all fixable. My main criticism is the plastic blocks which hold the retracts onto the foam in the wing. Both of mine have ripped out on landings, resulting in broken wires on one retract. I would normally put this down to wear and tear, and not perfect landings....but when I compare the wing blocks with other hobbking models like my avios spitfire which is similar wingspan, the blocks have no where near the amount of surface area contacting the wing, and the slots to hold them in place are far shallower. I noticed this plane has two reviews on hobbyking website, and one mentions this block detaching from wing. I doubt this plane will survive many more landings. A real shame as the plane seems very strong in all other areas.
    Andy in uk.

    @KimAbraham 2 года назад +4

    550 kV and 6S with a 16x6 propeller. I'm not sure I understand how this can get to 125 mph. (and ecalc seems to agree)
    125 km/h seems very ambitious already (maybe with a super steep dive), but 125 mph should be outright impossible, right?

    • @HobbyKingOfficial
      @HobbyKingOfficial  2 года назад +1

      Unless the radar speed gun we had was wildly off (we don't think it was), that's what it said 198kph, OK so that's 123mph, we rounded up a little.

    • @KimAbraham
      @KimAbraham 2 года назад +1

      @@HobbyKingOfficial it looks like a great flying plane. But the claimed top speed can’t be right. Either you got super lucky with a gust of tail wind or it did not happen 😀.
      I do not see how the combination of prop pitch, battery voltage and motor kV can add up to the claimed 200km/h. Maybe someone can explain?

      80mph is een also dangerously fast. But maybe someone thought that number would not help selling foam.
      Please explain how a prop with 6” pitch on a 550kV motor on 6S can get to 125mph. I am happy to learn.
      Maybe the speed gun was set to km/h. 😁

    • @shelbyseelbach9568

      I'd have to agree, that would make this plane faster than my 6s EDFs. Both 70mm high performance and 90mm models. I think that has got to be incorrect.

    • @HobbyKingOfficial
      @HobbyKingOfficial  2 года назад +1

      Yes I'll admit of could have shown that better, but we were pushed for time as the light was fading. However CG is listed in the manual but for reference, its 150mm from the leading edge of the wing. HOWEVER that's measured at the center of the wing (where the wing fits into the fuselage). Stuart.

    i was just about to order one but then i saw the stupid looking retracts... if only you wouldve used retracts with the correct geometry!
    also that motor setup doesnt make sense at all, 6" pitch for speed?! thats NO efficiency at all and 5min flight with a 5000mAh battery on that size plane tells me exactly that.
    very unfortunate, i really like the look and size of the plane, but those two things threw me off :(
