Hello Brother! I am working on a GL450 with a bad Idler Gear (M273 engine). On my chain, I have 4 dark copper marks for each sprocket. The idler gear has no mark to line up the chain to. Do you know if I just ignore it for the Idler gear not the balance shaft.

Hi , the way i do the W211 engine timing chain is , i do follow the engine timing chain marks that are on the Gears and the block with the Cylinder heads and the balancer Shaft, Not that marks on the Chain . you can watch my new videos on my channel that will show all the engine timing marks.
