I was impressed how Eddie used his face to deflect Thors punches, very good technique shown by Eddie. Plus Eddies haymaker punching is obvious a very professional that no doubt will adopted by pro boxers around the world. Wonder if he’ll get that Thor tattoo now😂

I like most people have completely went off Eddie Hall.
He confesses to being an narcissist due to his strong man competitiveness but he wasn't an arrogant bully back then.
After his success he just became an intolerable character that rubs me up the wrong way.

  • @GorchaxGaming
    @GorchaxGaming 2 года назад +99

The thing that finally made me sour on Eddie was his constant behaviour of narcisism and bullying. I agree Thor was not the greatest sportsman in loss. But since then, from what i have seen he has been fairly decent to people (when not on the topic of 2017). Eddie however has more or less bullied anyone and everyone he's collabed with or met in almost all of his videos. Alot of the time he's acting childish and immature. But the last drop for me was when he was filming from WSM, or Brittains or Giants Live or whatever it was. And he was backstage, which is a unique content (Loz has some of this too and his content is respectful and i prefer it). So Eddie is not competing, and yet he is sitting in the room where all the competing athletes are resting/eating between events. And he is going on about himself, he is saying things to the competitors, or about them, and he is stealing their food/snacks and being smug about it. Like come on. It is not a good look when you stop competing, make a video about the competition, taking up space and focus from the actual competitors, smacktalking and stealing bags of peanuts. It was one of the most disrespectful behaviours i have ever seen in strongman world. Its like he is overexaggerating the bullying cuz its "good" content, but it just makes him look like an overgrown child.. I lost respect for him that day to be honest. And for the fight, from their trainingvideos, it seems like eddie never expected a boxing fight, and trained for a brawl to knock him out. And thor trained for more of a boxing approach. I think eddie has more power, but if it goes past 6mins i think Eddie might be in trouble.

But way more importantly, even if you are working hard to grasp the basics, to say that you can “win your first 10 amateur fights, easy” makes me question your boxing integrity.
Unless you are a precocious talent and more gifted than most, you do not win much in licensed boxing easily! Certainly not 10 straight bouts.

When you compare their frames, Thor has lost more weight overall, which should help him in the cardio. I know Eddie has the ability to be very athletic in things like swimming, but I question him carrying this much weight into a fight. If he can't get Thor out of there in the first or early in the second, I think it's going to be a long night for him cardio-wise. I know Eddie probably wanted to keep some extra weight for punching power, but that's going to hurt him if he can't take out Thor early.

I love watching them both when it's about strongman, and I don't favour any of them, but this gentleman said Eddie had the dedication and the mindset to win at the WSM, even tho he was in disadvantage, but imo, his pride made him lose the fight. He took it too lightly. Thor had the ambition to dedicate himself only to boxing. He lost weight, trained and ate in preparation for this fight. Meanwhile, Eddie maybe though that he would knock-down Thor just that easily? I mean yes, Eddie has tremendous amount of power, but boxing isn't all about power, especially when your opponent might have the same amount of power.

Although those weights Eddie is using are "heavy" to us ,it's not anywhere near max effort poundage,it's actually a legitimate way to train for combat athletes to use 60 to 70 % max and move the weights extremely fast and not going to failure, leaving reps in the tank.
This is why he doesn't get too sore between sessions.

Out of these two, I'm absolutely certain Eddie has far more experience of both fighting and takin hits than Thor (they learn to fight before they learn to walk in Stoke FFS) and I think that's really going to be the deciding factor.

18:29 It was literally Eddie with his torn bicep that pulled out, and Devan did a favor to help the company organizing it from getting to serious issues.

Eddie Hall Loses the fight vs Thor
The best things to come out of this fight.
    1. The way the events were changed in 2017 to favor Hall and help him win was brought to light to the general public.
    2. That Thor has DL 501 and 500 is not the record any longer was made known to the general public.
3 That Eddie has never won an international event other than the sketchy 2017 wsm( should always have an asterisk by it) was made known to general public
. 4. Halls inexcusable behavior and comments ( spitting, rape comments, etc.) revealed his true character to everyone except the most delusional of his fan boys.
    5. He lost the fight, proving his mental games meant nothing once he had to legitimately compete and his false bravado and running his mouth didnt help him
Hopefully the kids that were following his example and looking up to him before this fight, can reevaluate their standards and opinions and choose a better role model

They've both heavily leaned into their advantages and disregarded the other stuff. Made them very polar opposites

This fight will be like 2 seals swimming in glue. They will be exhausted before the end of the first round.

I agree 👍. Both men are amazing athletes. Respect. I think Thor does owe Eddie an apology. However, I'm afraid to watch this fight. I want Eddie to win, but I don't want either man to loose.

I've been saying it in other videos. If Eddie can't KO Thor in the first two rounds, then it's Thor's fight. Thor looks to be in much better boxing shape, and that could play a huge role. Eddie is betting on himself getting an early KO, and that could be a mistake. Thor could dance around him for the first couple of rounds and stay out of reach with his long arms until Eddie is just spent. As to Eddie's idea that no boxer has ever wanted to be "weaker" or "lighter" for a match, I get his point but there are plenty of examples of HW fighters coming in over their normal fighting weight and losing due to lack of stamina.
