    This is the post from Facebook and Instagram referred to in the video.
    @officialslystallone If you want to get Really cut and defined try this high protein diet! Kidding of course, but the truth is I believe in a very high protein diet with low carbohydrates and an abundance of natural fats really give you serious energy. But no matter what you eat you cannot do it without proper supplementation, pre-workout supplements, and post workout supplements are incredibly important. For years I worked out basically on an empty stomach thinking that I would eat after the workout. But I struggled with maintaining enough energy to throw weights around for an hour and a half. Back in those days everything was experimentation that usually was ill conceived in the gym .. insanely, What I was trying to do by not eating normally, for example 3500 cal a day , I would eat 1500 calories and my body, requiring a lot of energy would cannibalize all the fat I had stored up over the years and my muscles became very defined, not so large, and the skin thinned out which showed vascularity… Afterwhile I look like one large walking vein , I think I even had veins in my hair !!! I am exaggerating,of course , But it was a foolish way to train. That's why so many bodybuilders from that era are walking around with a multitude of injuries and internal health problems…The truth is, everyone had their own theory, and some were truly insane and quite often life-threatening.… Now The guy the probably knows more about it than anybody ON THE PLANET is Jeff Cavaliere @athleanx an amazing trainer with an extraordinary amount of knowledge and videos on RUclips,to learn from. He is truly the real deal also makes the BEST supplements on the market… I do his workouts and my body burns for a week! It's a good pain because you know things are growing THE RIGHT WAY … @athleanx #bodybuilding

    It was my pleasure to share the quote/post with you, Jeff. Mr. Stallone was a hero of mine growing up, and you have moved into that place since then. I even have a list of people that I send all of your videos to as you post them. One of my dreams is actually to meet you, and I live only about 15 minutes from you here in CT.
    Anyway, you are, again, my inspiration. I've incorporated as many of your videos and the AThlean-X program into my workouts and the workouts of my friends, as I possibly can. I'm 55 years old and have dropped from 220lbs with 40% body fat down to 203lbs and between 13-15 depending upon the week. I've radically changed, but I'm still not where I want to be. I believe in what you're saying and know that I will get there.
    Thank you for being a hero to me...

    JEFF, I can't be the only person to every wonder this, but I've been losing motivation lately to work out (hard) because I'm actually at a stage that I'm very happy with my gains, I like what I see in the mirror and I'm not looking to get much bigger. Two Questions: 1) How do you keep the same workout motivation and intensity that you once had when you were seeing tons of results each week/month/year? 2) What sort of workout plan/workout mentality should one keep to maintain but still get a great workout?

    • @MarkanVaran7
      @MarkanVaran7 7 лет назад +10

      Cameron Schutz think like this, once you stop working out you will become frail and weak and everybody is going to look at you like a puny human so you must maintain that consistency to stay buffed and a well oiled mean machine

      ep how can you get satisfied in half a year? Im training for 1,5 years gained 12kg and got visible abs on 180lbs but I still think my body is average... whilst people call me a beast lmao. Still such a long way till i hit 200lbs on 10% bodyfat.

      Not true at all. I can relate to losing motivation, I exercises by myself for 4 months and went from 5'8" 135 lbs to 158 lbs at the end of those 4 months. I was satisfied with the amount of muscle I gained and I could feel happy about myself when I looked in the mirror. I mainly exercises for baseball and track, and I was as strong as I felt was necessary. I'm now 159 lbs in March, didn't lose any muscle and thinking about packing on more muscle for next year.

      Julian Colon I'm trying to gain weight after going through a divorce. I was 148 at one point, then dropped to 132. I'm now at 135 after 2 years. I'm your same height. I eat better than the average and am trying to exercise at home. Not just to gain weight with muscle, but I have a little pudge in my gut even though the rest of my body is lean and vascular. My question is how in the world did you pack on the pounds and was it muscle? Thanks.

    Awesome post from Stallone.
    I wish I could cook for myself, can't because of my current life situation. I normally focus on quality days too. I like to eat one high cholesterol meal, usually pork, as my evening meal. The key is to caramelize the fats, reduce the water content of the saturated fats. But I also marinade the meat in olive oil.
    Cholesterol is the precursor to hormones, saturated fats are the primary carrier while unsaturated fats are secondary. During sleep is when the body produces the most hormones. It's just a perfectly timed meal loaded with healthy fats, mainly because the saturated fats have been unsaturated by heat.

    Jeff could you like easily teach calorie counting? I am so lost on it hahaha. I'm 173 at 5'7 with 23% fat. I wanna be at least 11% fat and bulk up. also, will I lose belly fat if I bulked up?

    • @philipopena1341
      @philipopena1341 7 лет назад +26

      Johnny Lee // I am not Jeff but I could teach you this as it is very simple math. Lets say your daily calorie intake is 2000 Calories. If you want to lose a pound of fat in one week you will have to lower your caloric intake by 500. The reason its 500 is because theres roughly 3500 calories for a pound of fat. (500x7=3500)
      Now you said you weigh 173lb with 23% bf and your goal is 11%. This means you currently have (173x.23) 40lb of body fat and your goal is to have (173x.11) 19lb of fat. You're going to have to lose 21lb of fat which will take (21x7) 147 days on a strict 500 deficit caloric intake. Make your caloric defit to 1000 and you will cut that time in half.

    • @davidramziz3200
      @davidramziz3200 7 лет назад +4

      Johnny Lee it wont take you 2 years, you lose more fat per week when you are on the heavier side. you can go on maintanance and train hard, that will recomposition your body how you want. But that will take a long time lol

    • @supawizkalifia9711
      @supawizkalifia9711 7 лет назад

      david ramziz oh? when he said two years I got scared...

    • @davidramziz3200
      @davidramziz3200 7 лет назад +3

      Johnny Lee Yeah lmao, i saw his math, and while technically correct, that rate of fat loss mostly applies to leaner guys, like 14 percent type guys. dude, honestly though, dont worry about the time and just train hard. If this is your first time lifting then cutting would be your best bet. Cus thanks to natty gains, you can gain muscle while losing fat, then lean bulk, after you are back to 170 at under 15 percent, you have reached goals.

    I'm a registered vascular technologist (RVT). Translation= I specialize in diagnosing vascular problems in the body. I think something to be noted here is that a common cause of this increased vascularity is actually a pathology. When veins become dilated and overloaded by too much pressure the valves inside them wear out and stop functioning properly. This is what causes varicose veins, a very common diagnosis in bodybuilders. It's generally not much of a concern in the upper body, unless you end up needing those veins for a heart surgery or an A/V fistula for dialysis. In the legs can it lead to skin ulcers and a host of other problems. So yeah, those big bulging veins aren't necessarily desirable.
