- ChasingLights Collective X G-Shock set out on journey of discovery.
The focus was to work with a group of individuals from different backgrounds looking to achieve one unified goal - To Successfully Complete The Official Big Half Marathon ( @officialbighalf )
..
As some of you know this can be super challenging, not only the actual event but the level of training, commitment and time it takes to do this without increasing stress, fatigue and the possibility of injury that can directly affect your daily life.
..
ChasingLights Collective has always looked at ways in which we can 'Train Differently' to enable us to work smarter with the time we HAVE - So rather than adding time to train we look at ways to integrate breathwork, mobility and strength into our daily routines.
..
We structured a training guide to prioritise Strength and Conditioning over increasing miles on the road. Using Breathing techniques to help us understand pacing strategies and to regulate our effort in the sessions and in day to day tasks.
..
25 members of our community committed to a 10 week training programme with the same goal of crossing the finish line strong and happy.
Some experienced runners and others with no experience of running at all.
..
The 10 weeks have been documented and highlighted throughout producing this short film for you to share in the journey and some of the experiences
We named it Project 13.1
Best advice for these folks is Control Your Breathing!! That is the trick for running long distances. I’m disabled now but I used to be a Marathon runner. I have ran 8 marathons in my days as a runner. But for sure. Controlling your breathing as you run you’ll find eventually you can breathe through the Wall a lot of early runners hit. You can push yourself through the Wall by controlling your breathing. Long slow breathing I found to be the best. But keeping it that way Long and slow breathing throughout your run you’ll find you can push yourself far more than you ever thought possible. Keep that in mind. Control the breathing.
No it's pure hatred. You gotta hate what your running from. That's the key.
