Now go, make some music! - Наука
I know Ardour from its early days. It has grown very close to my heart. More and more I can do without my other DAW. I am proud to belong to the Ardour community. Thank you all...
god bless for everything you do with helping the linux ardour community. i treasure your videos ❤
Thank you! He surely does :)
Thx Unfa and Paul for your efforts and great work !!!
Ardour is awesome! I am not computer savvy and I am definitely no sound engineer. I play in a bar band and a lot of the spots we play are small and don't have a house PA. Now we can take a light weight system with us and save the setups we like for each venue. This software has actually made me interested in learning more about sound production.
I'be been producing my music on Ardour and Linux, with open licensed plugins, several years ago. They are always developing and improving. I don't need any other DAW. This one makes the job for me just right. Great job for Paul Davis, Robin Gareus and the team.
Used the RC already from AUR and happy that the release is already out in the official EndeavorOS repo. Updated and all is perfectly working. Just got crash or even complete freeze from time to time but it's not often. Happy about that release for sure. Also about your awesome videos that helped me a lot to get started. Cheers!
Changes look sweet! Thanks for the video.
This could and would give the whole project hopefully a huge boost while more people will consider to use it and maybe be ok to donate for it and make it more and more tight
Ive been building from source every morning for the last 6 months testing it out. A7 is a great update! I still have lockups closing a new session I didnt save but I can live with that for temporary projects!
Oh, that's exciting! I need to get a hold of it asap!
BROTHER, YOU ARE THE BEST!!! You oooh really helped me!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
You're very welcome :D
Definitely checking out ardour again with this latest update. First tried it a good 5 years ago and couldn't get into it. This is looking really good
that was amazing! crush without any notes! :)
Pro-Tip: use an "External Send" from the master bus to OBS (rather than multiple connections from the master-bus out). This will get you proper alignment (and get rid of the no-align warning).
Oh! Awesome, thanks!
Thanks unfa and thanks ardour team
i love u so much bro, thanks very much
Tysm, did everything as described
Hey man, It works great and without any problems.
Hey bro! thanks for sharing all this knowledge! You are awesome! Congrats... May I ask you a question that I cant find on your videos? Do you have an advice for use a MIDI Keyb./Controller as a Linux controller, like a streamdeck.? I would like to set some shell script to be triggered by midi.... please give some light into this spot... thanks, bro!
clips ! that's awesome, I guess I'm re-buying a launchpad !
unfa, now that we have a new Ardour v7 perhaps it is time to do a status update video on pipewire/wireplumber. Are you still using pipewire as your audio backend and how well does it work today for your usecases and with Ardour? Have the pipewire developers solved any of the issues you had in the past?
This question has been answered in the interview with Paul - you can find it in the timestamps!
TL;DW
I use PipeWire and it works great, but it messes with Ardour's latency compensation which can be an issue when recording or performing live.
Hi! i just subscribed, to your channel.... EXCELENT.....what are you using for your intro titles? i am also going full open source
thanks Unfa
You're welcome :)
I share your enthusiasm for unlinked copies of MIDI regions.
There are tons of midi operations that I would like to be able to script/automate, like: take my selected notes and smooth the velocity changes to remove any unwanted sudden accents (without forcing everything to the same velocity), or take my selected notes and adjust their starting point and length to evenly distribute them over time (e.g. to make a clean 11-tuplet). Can this be done in scripting? Does ardour come with examples of such operations?
You can make a Lua script inside Ardour. Maybe someone already did it?
I'm still missing box select of notes (like in lmms).
@unfa00
Do you know if ardour will have a pipewire sound engine/lib in the future?
I don't suspect native support coming in very soon if at all. JACK back-end works with Pipewire when using Pipewire-JACK component. That's how I run it.
cool
I was using daw programs way back but not for a while. Just tried a few. This one is such a pain. I'm sure basic editing and everything you want can be done somehow but it sure doesn't come naturally. I can't even get a few minutes to try it out and figure the basics that usually work with a press of the ctrl or shift key out before the nag window pops up over and over until you need to restart. Give someone a chance to try it without being nagged to death the day after you install it! Forgetaboutit.
I've just realized, You look very much like a very active member on Native Instruments Forums. Are you that guy?
Ardour is like that cutest chick who after a wild party crash at your place. . .
Just a question for you UNFA. Wich program dou you use for recording the screen?
I use OBS Studio (obsproject.com).
It's obviously libre software, and it's amazing.
@@unfa00 Thanks mate
CC-0 is a licence and PD is not. Some countries do not allow to put a creation in PD (only the legal expiration of author rights can). CC-0 has been created to give the same amount of rights, but is still different PD.
Thanks!
I dоwnloaded everything is okay
For someone who never done any audio production work prior, how does Ardour compares with Zrythm?
I think you'll be equally confused :D
@@unfa00 Damn! 😂
Ardour is very advanced and can be difficult more newbies. If you never used a DAW you probably find them all confusing.
@@ttinsane1988 Thank you!
i dont use loops
Repetition legitimizes. Repetition legitimizes. Repetition legitimizes. Repetition legitimizes.
Hi, i would like to request detailed tutorial on using cues feature, and please don't cut down crashes, it add some charm to your videos
I can't promise anything, and I'd probably going to need a new MIDI controller to properly tackle that, but it is something aid love to do. I have been looking for ways to do love performances on Linux and this is probably a very good tool for that!
Crashes? Embrace the jank :D
I just built ardour for the first time. I can't believe it worked. I have to lie down.
Hi can you please show us how to setup Linux sampler please !!!!!!!!!!
Only ardour director do not listen his community, man it is too hard to add piano roll editor into that shit Arsour?
there's been piano roll in Ardour for years. You just drag a MIDI track from the top or bottom until it's tall enough and the piano roll appears.
if you go to Paul interview episode, they talk about piano roll
Creator of Ardour suffers from Cognitive Dissonance as he does his best people do not use his soft.
Hi can you please show us how to setup Linux sampler please !!!!!!!!!!
