Being a manager is not always the best move. When you talk about money, sometimes you can make just as much where you are. If you’re doing great as a salesman and are working on your social media and these videos and if that’s your passion, continue doing it because it’s amazing, best of luck to you!
You’ve done the right thing taking the time to weigh your options. You’re killing it in sales and your videos are very entertaining. Keep on crushing it.
Congratulations!! As long as you and your wife is happy that is all that matters. Because money isn’t everything. You are still best salesman in world of cars!!
Congrats. Sounds like staying in sales was the right choice for you at the moment. That may or may not change in the future, but always be open to reevaluating that. Sales may ultimately be where you’re happiest in life, but the only way you’ll know that for sure is if you always reevaluate what might be best for you!
You built a great business…they come to you…best vibe ever…you can always be a manger with your back group and numbers…but I don’t know your pay out. It your def in the 200k plus range. With the bonus multipliers and year end bonus you’re getting paid. Being a manager is fun too but it’s alit of work…your closing deals for you newbies and the turn over is tuff to manage too. Good luck and your videos inspired me to make a couple and try it out. I luv my sales team but like you I prefer to stay is sales…I can finally take time off and still hit the numbers which is great. Thanks again for all your hard work and effort! It’s appreciated!
Do what your gut tells you to do and makes YOU happy. Mgmt is not always what it's cracked up to be. Sometimes it's a shittier deal. I enjoy watching your vids! Stay true and humble
I’ve noticed some dealerships change managers often. Seems like they don’t give them a chance. But you know your dealership’s workings and patterns, we don’t. I’m sure you will be successful either way!
Right choice. You're compassionate. You work with your customers. In January, I was a dealership, ( Maintenance done on my car). I watched two salesmen blow both deals. They refused to compromise with the customers. Customers both walked out. During my negotiations, they gave me a counter offer . I recounted with a final offer. They finally excepted. There has to be a faster way to get through this process. I think you have what it takes. Don't go into management. I enjoy your videos.
I decided to become a salesman at a honda dealership near me because of your videos. I just like how fun you make it seem. Is honda the best dealership to work at or should I go to a different dealership. Also what is your number 1 tip for newbies?
Law of the Universe: if you are positively enthusiastic and can make a genuine smile, you will do well in sales. People WANT to like you, and they want YOU to like them. Why then do so many people stay disagreeable, never smile, and don’t care to even give eye contact?
Stay in sales the Management will eat you alive! Sold for 8 years and after I got tired of the hours cut and fill bullshit from the finance department, I left and went into wholesale. Managers and finance steal from the salespeople, flooding the sales floor the business just isn't what it used to be at all.
As a foreman in the construction industry, I would make the same decision if I had it to do over. Continue to do what you enjoy doing without the added headache
Work in timeshare (been in the industry 7 years) (worked as rep, presenter and sales manager) On average I make more than most of our managers. I have less stress, fewer responsibilities and have less stress to take home… could care less ab my titles… I’ll take my 300k avg annual and be just fine without the title of “sales manager”
I'm not in your industry, I'm in insurance claims, but i had a similar dilemma. CAT Adjusters make a very good living because overtime pay (CAT pay in our industry), is more of an expectation and guarantee than occasional. I'm so proficient at my role I can do in 7-8 hours what takes others 12, but still make the say pay. I get to leave at the end of the day and truly disconnect. Managers are almost expected to take their laptops even on vacations and periodically be available. Long story short, i have been asked repeatedly to step into management and my answer has always been no. I can make a very comparable living working less hours with less stress, and maintain a better work life balance. Management isn't always the goal, you gotta find what works for you.
You're going to have a million different opportunities come your way during your career. Any dealership would love to have you in any position from janitor to general manager. Your videos speak for themselves. Keep killing it buddy!
You will not know if you made the right move for a long time or you might never know. All you can do is make your best choice and go with it. Im doing things now that I would not be able to do if I had made different choices 30+ years ago.

You’re a boss. Bosses do what they want. That manager title isn’t going anywhere. Hustler
The crossover I’d like is you talking to Elliot. You guys are both killing it.
The Sales Manager works in the best interest of the dealership . The Sales person should always work for their customers for a win win outcome .
Do what makes you happy.
Great decision, we love your content.
Well thought out decision! Congratulations on making choice that is right for you.
Depending on who your team is, makes or break being a manager.
Good choice, because I need my car sale content

Smart call at this point.

How long did it take you to get to a solid pipeline?
How much do you make selling that many cars in a month?
Give it a while, if the current social media starts to slip a bit then you should switch it up. Maybe open your own dealership by then!
I get it. Videos>Management woo
The money is being a finance, not sales manager. Still, it would be more reasonability and less time to do your side business. Smart move, brother.
Lol easy until the economy tanks!
Well people are obsessed with new cars and obsesses with youtube how can ya lose? For me i keep driving my old town car and watching youtube lol
YOU SCAMMED ME AND MY WIFE OUT OF A CLUNKER CAR. SHAME ON U DUDE!!

If you're selling thirty cars a month you should be making more than your manager.
