There are a few key things that most Xtomp reviews miss… in most cases because there have been upgrades to the firmware since the review was completed. FIRST, the amp models now all have optional and appropriate cabinet simulations built-in (For instance, the “Marshell” has a 1960-like 4x12 sim.) If you use the Xtomp's Right output, it includes the cab sim (so you can go directly to your board/interface) while the Left output is designed to give you the character of that amp through any clean amp and cab you’re putting it through. SECOND, most of the delays have a tap tempo function!! Just hold the single button down, tap your tempo, and, as a bonus, the halo LED will flash at that tempo. THIRD, there are new models coming out every month and they are all FREE to download. I JUST finished d/ling the latest update with three new models… a new cab, new distortion pedal and a new ‘vintage mic’ sim. There are new things every month so, depending on how recently this review was posted, there will be a few to DOZENS more models available now. To check out ALL the current models, install the app on your phone, go to setting and hit update and it will have everything currently available.
As an example, as of July 2nd, 2018, there are 36 Amp models with built in optional cab sims, 35 distortions and overdrives, 10 compressors and boosts, 22 EQ's and filters, 37 modulations effects, 27 delays and reverbs, 25 combination effects (2 effects at once), 30 stand alone cabinet simulations, plus an additional 6 signature effects and 5 "special" effects (including a 45-second looper) and there are usually 3 or 4 new things each month!
@@muncill They aren't sending 3 or 4 new models every month like they were, but we got an update with a couple new models last month.... and there are well over 300 currently. Even if they stopped sending new models altogether, 300 is still a TON of pedals for the price. Nobody bitches that BOSS hasn't sent out any new sounds for the GT100.
Now , is 2021 year's. Many new versions, of effects pedals , on app , for xtomp.....amplifier heads, speakers in 4 x 12 inches. Or 2 x 15 inches. Of speakers. Sounds , heavy duty, multi pedals....over 100 plus plus ....of effects.
i think that every time Im here. Honestly cannot figure out how he doesnt. I feel like Andertons channel could use someone with his kinda style. Everything Rob Chapman plays there is face melting.
so would you rather have one of these or just get the proper pedal as I feel you pend to much time messing with the settings and trying to find the right sound. what's your take?
Chris Durrant personally, I prefer sticking with the real analog pedals, only 'cause I don't like using a whole lotta effects. But if you like experimenting with a lot of different sounds this is incredibly cool and can save you a lot of money.

@@garystackhouse5787 Are they still updating this? I read a review on that app saying they are no longer putting out updates for the pedal.

@@muncill There was just a new update with the Marshall Bluesbreaker, Paul Cochrane Timmy, MXR Micro amp, and Lovepedal Eternity pedals.

I love how you played the Jimi Hendrix Woodstock improv. Nice one mate, Jimi would be proud of the way you played it ;)
Aww cheers buddy, your the first person who has noticed :)
Mike Bradley
You're welcome, it looks like we're both huge Hendrix fans :)
Just thinking why not make a template to put on top for each pedal tone
Nice job Mike. Quick unrelated question - what is the make of strap you use on your Les Paul and where did you get it from? Thanks.
Moody's strap. My girlfriend got it for my birthday last year, I believe she ordered it directly from them.
Thanks Mike.
That tremolo tune you played got me stoned.
I'd happily have that on my pedal board. The Tubescreamer's digital too so what's the difference?
good emulation of the Boss BD2, it cleans up with no gain very well like the original
This guy needs more subs

Mark Shull I agree
Aww cheers buddy, any help spreading the word is always welcome :)
Thanks Mark, As I just said in a previous comment, any help spreading the word is amazing. Im thankful that people like yourself enjoy my videos.

Awesome gear! I want one after this
Hi i have a schecter damien 6 fr and fender frontman 15watt what pedal ewould be good for rock music or blues music
how many amp models does it have now?
cool video...when you load a previously used pedal, is it at where you last set it or is it at factory preset?
If i remember rightly it went back to factory settings
then its not so convenient to switch during a gig...thanks!
This item has been discontinued by the manufacturer. Can you still get all the sounds by downloading them.
I have no idea I'm afraid. Try contacting the guys who make it, hopefully they can help.
@@MikeBradleyofficial Do you still use it?
GP Holland I got sent it to look at and review and then had to send it back.
@@gpholland4663 They still make the mini and update the library all the time and mini shares the same library as the regular Xtomp.

Wow! This makes me want to get one and i dont even play guitar! Might as well just have this rather than buy each individual pedal you want
That's a marketers dream this comment :)
You can tell at 19:15 that he can still hear unlike most of us guitar players
Jimi used a univibe in little wing so a bit modern
Btw love that strat you certainly own that fretboard 👍👍👍👍👍👍

You spelled "all" wrong in the desc.

An iPhone? Stomp on that instead :-P :-)
Those who don't have a mobile phone are left in the lurch, but it's just another gimmick anyway.

Not at all. Haven't got one & don't want one.
