I'm also a fan of Joanna and Chip and their show; they're such a cute couple with a cute family. That's so cool that you're near their Magnolia market. Glad you're having such a relaxing and enjoyable writing retreat. Similar to what you say about having goals for daily word counts that keep you on track, I'm finding that the rewards system I have in place for my word counts has really been motivating me and keeping me writing. It's so nice to reward yourself and remember that writing is a part of our lives, not the whole entirety, especially around this time with the pressure of Nanowrimo.

enjoy your time in Waco. I saw on TV last night where they are doing a hotel now so maybe you can stay there next year for diaries. A retreat is my 30k reward so I can push through the final 20k. I followed your idea of putting my scene cards in a 4x6 brag book to make them more portable. The ring just wasn't' working for me but the brag book idea was spot on. I just pulled them off my story board and popped them in a vacant brag book I had on hand. You have the best organization ideas! Creative Blessings!
I'm being a rebel and editing this NaNo, but I've finished chapter 2 and added 248 words as of last night. Doing the video this way was fine with me. Sometimes it's nice to have a video just the way you recorded it. Have fun on your writing trip!
As of yesterday (day 5), I am at 7,988 total. I am super motivated and can't wait for the rest of November and to see where I'm at when this is all over. Love you, Sarra! Because every time I watch one of your videos, I get a burst of energy and motivation.

I always feel happy when I hear people can great a great sleep as I have pets so sometimes they are worse than little kids haha. One of my cats woke me up at 5am this morning because of the time change. Those were great writing sprints and how awesome that you are going to Magnolia!!

I also love to write with sprints; it keeps me focused on just that chosen slice of the story so I can just relax and let the words come. This morning I spent some time at Pandora's (also one of my favorite places to write) and reworked my opening scenes -- just wasn't happy with Act 1, so I'm excited to get that plotter energy going tonight with my writing buddy. The last writing retreat I did, I had to run to the Mac store 45 minutes away from my hotel because I forgot my Macbook charger. We've all been there! :) Thanks for doing updates like this even though you can't do fancy videos. Love it!

The most sprints I've ever done in a day was 7, I find sprints way easier than sitting for 8 hours straight writing. No idea how people can do that, I'd be distracted on the internet!
