Amazing, it has given me inspiration to keep teaching new tricks to our 11yr old podenco orito who still gets mistaken for a puppy. I just need to find some high value treats to keep her interested in me rather than squirrels!
We rescued one in Spain (when we were living there) 5 years ago and although the rescue centre said he was about 3, the vet said he was more like 5. So he must now be about 10. Anyway, here in England other dog owners are fascinated by him and similar to your experience, they think he's really young, just a year old or so!!!! They certainly hide their age well. Having had one, I'd not look at any other breed, they're the best!
Great video! Great video! Your Novo is almost the spitting image of mine... brown with a tiny bit of white on the paws and chest. I rescued mine from Ibi (not far from Alicante) and he's the best dog anyone could ask for. Queiro mucho mi podenquito adorable ;)
Podenco is very sweet. I have a Pharaoh hound, which is, like a podenco, very playful, but it is much taller and bigger, so it cannot pass between my legs and jump into my arms, it would knock me down.🧐
incredible ,,, amazing,,, Podenco Andaluz .... same as mine great breed,, shows the bond between both of you , thats how this breed should be treated .
Hello from Germany. I want to ask how old Novo is. My Podenco is 1 year old now and I teach her some tricks but Novo is great. I hope my dog will learn a lot of tricks, like Novo 😍

Podencos sind intelligente Hunde und sehr eigenständig. Wie jedes Säugetier kann man ihnen aber auch vermitteln welche Vorteile es hat, ein Team zu sein. Wenn man viel Zeit mit ihnen verbringt und dabei wirklich bei der Sache ist und Spaß hat, dann merkt das der Hund. Hat man erstmal das Herz und die Freundschaft des Podencos gewonnen, hat man den Besten und Gehorsamsten Hund ❤👍

I've the same question. Our podenco is now one and a half year old.

Not all podenco breeds are very slim types. Andaluz is a bit more chuncky. Ibicenco's are a bit more "skin to the bone"
