“Carol” is underrated, it’s such a beautiful film. i’ve watched it like 100 times and i never get tired of it. it always makes me so emotional. also Cate Blanchett is really hot.
Tailz Unleashed its not a lesbian film. It stars Winona Ryder and Christian Slater. The Heathers are the mean girls of the school and Veronica (Winona) is in the heathers. Veronica starts liking a new guy named JD (Christian) and she starts seeing him but there is a twist with JD. I don't want to spoil it if you want to watch it. Its a dark comedy and a cult classic. Also if you can't handle suicide or death than you shouldn't watch it
Really? I feel like I'm the ONLY lesbian who hates that movie. Every lesbian I know loves the shit out of it. I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. It was soooo boring. And the "scandalous" sex scene is awkward and boring as well. The two women had no chemistry whatsoever. I guess a lot of it has to do with me not liking romance movies though.
Imagine Me and You is my FAVORITE lesbian love story!!! I've dabbled in floral design, so I have a soft spot for Luce, but I also LOVE Piper Parabo because Coyote Ugly is one of my favorite movies of all time!!!
Bryn Marie it is honestly just my opinion dear. What thoughts go on in my little head, shouldn't bother the thoughts in your little head so much. I find it vile because it is animalistic in nature, like they are hungry for each other's flesh. I found it very in your face and yes- graphic.
"Lucy Diamond is *kinda* cute" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Jordana Brewster quadruples my gayness in D.E.B.S. Ladies, watch it if you wanna level up in gayness
Fuck yes, I've been waiting for something like this, I was starting to wonder why I Was subbed to MsMojo since it's so heavily skewed towards hetero stuff (not that it offends me, heteros are like 90% of everyone, I just always wished there was at least *some* lesbian content on here).
For me, Carol is number one. Not only is it a beautiful love story between two people, but it shows just how difficult it was to be gay back then. I just love it so much!
How is it a good thing? How is labling movies "Lesbian themed" a good thing. Well I guess it teaches the next generation to call out lesbian couples in the streets.
Same, I was watching it and i was lookig away at some point and i head a male voice and was like "....that sounds like Rupaul" I looked up ad i hadnt laughed so much i my life.
What about that film based on a true story of the female police officer who is dying of cancer and wants the female partner recognised as the one who gets her money and stuff and is on her will. The one with Julianne Moore and Ellen Page.
I think that is what it is called. can't remember the title. I think it represents the struggle same sex couples have getting the government to recognise their relationships as something serious.
Bloomington? Loving Annabelle? Personally, Carol is and always will be number 1. I just love how well the movie was made: the acting/cast, the music, the way one scene flows onto the next.. I also love how its all very unspoken between them until near the end. Its like they knew how strongly they felt but didn't have to say a single word. I hope more quality movies like that are made.
blue is the warmest colour was written by a disgusting man who made the actors do things they weren't comfortable with. they had a sex scene that was basically just a porno and arguably not even necessary and both of the actresses have publicly complained about working with the director and how awful it was.
I have many thoughts about this list... 1. Yay! Great topic! 2. Fuck Blue is the Warmest Color! 3. Carol should most definitely be #1! 4. LOVE But I'm a Cheerleader, Debs, Bound, and Imagine Me and You! 5. I'm utterly shocked that Kiss Me wasn't on here! 6. Pariah is like the lez version of Precious. Intense and soul-crushing. Aurora Borealis "Shitty?" Carol was one of the most critically acclaimed films of 2015. It has a 94% on rotten tomatoes. Just think, using Google for 30 seconds could've saved you from looking like a moron...
ok but carol is always going to be my #1 lesbian movie. Blue is the warmest color is good but just too sexualized in my opinion. Also cate blanchett playing a lesbian is the 8th world wonder
It's AWFUL. If the actresses were at least 5 years older, the porny sex they have might be ok. But they are too young. Also, the story itself is a complete misery-fest.
As a Bisexual there needs to be more Bi than lesbian. I love both, but bisexual women and men are hardly ever represented and if they are there not open about it and the director says so after the fact. Damn a movie about being Bisexual told from both a Female and Male perspective would be fucking awesome. So people can see we are not cheating sluts that want attention or are straight people acting gay or gay people acting straight.
We don't need one or the other, we need both. Currently, Hollywood thinks that being inclusive means only making movies about white gay guys. So we don't need more bi movies than lesbian movies, we need more of both to begin with because our options are so limited. I definitely agree with you, though, there is not nearly enough bisexual representation in movies.
Omg, yeah. It was the first time I googled if the director was a man (he is), because of the male characters discussing the elusiveness of the female orgasm and the female characters not laughing in their face. Also the sex scenes were just cringe inducing
There are so many movies missing. What about ? Better than chocolate, I can't think straight, The World Unseen, Nina's Heavenly Delights, Kiss Me, Desert Hearts, Aimee & Jaguar should at least get a mention (only based on a true lesbian love story that survived during the holocaust). At 1:26 there’s not an “aha” moment like most straight people think.. there’s just that moment you stop pushing down certain feelings.. I can definitely tell this wasn’t made by a lesbian, or any lgbtq+ member..
Okay but these are my favs, Fingersmith/the Handmaiden, Tipping the Velvet, Eloise, Kiss Me, Carol, Bloomington, Desert Hearts, Lost and Delirious, plus most that were listed in the video
I don't think Blue Is The Warmest Color was meant for men. Yeah the sex scene was maybe a bit too long, but the entirety of that movie other than that was pretty great
I'm pissed off, I hate blue is the warmest clolour. I watched it with some lesbian friends and we all agreed it's incredibly protentious and that the main girl was kind of a shitty character. If you were going to pick a great none American lesbian film why not "fucking Amal" I love "Fucking Amal" and it wasn't even an honourable mention. Check out Lukas Moodyson's "Fucking Amal" or as it's also called "show me love".
idk why everyone is hating on Blue is the warmest color, its definitely my favorite movie and deserves the first place! everyone's just concentrating on the sex scenes which is kinda sad bc the movie isn't about sex its about finding out ur sexuality and about being in love for the first time!
I definitely don’t think BITWC should have been #1 but it’s absolutely not a terrible movie. The sex scenes are exploitative and were obviously directed by a man but the story of love itself and all it’s beautiful and ugly moments seemed like the most genuine portrayal of any relationship I’d ever seen in film up to that point. It’s just a shame I couldn’t recommend it to most people due to how graphic and needlessly long the sex scenes were. Similarly with “Love” by Gaspar Noe, they didn’t pull any punches sexually but the feelings and the emotional turmoil felt genuine. You can say these films were exploitative, but from a production and acting standpoint, they were raw and beautiful.
I haven't seen any of these movies except for Carol's. So far I love Carol. Well written and I love the actresses. The movie was awesome. I have to watch the others. I'm in the middle of watching Freeheld now. So far it's good. Love those actresses too.
Dude, Show Me Love! (Swedish title: Fucking Amal) That movie made me smile from beginning to end! Also, I didn't love Blue is the Warmest Colour and am kind of upset that it's number one.
“Carol” is underrated, it’s such a beautiful film. i’ve watched it like 100 times and i never get tired of it. it always makes me so emotional.
also Cate Blanchett is really hot.

Carol definetely should be on the 1st place, it's like the best lesbian movie ever
But I'm a Cheerleader is my 2nd favorite movie ever, after Heathers!
HEATHERS
Little Mix & Musicals. iver never seen heathers? lesbian film?
Tailz Unleashed
its not a lesbian film. I've never met a single lesbian who likes Blue is the warmest colour. Seriously, that movie is what we laugh about in the lesbian community.
Lu Lcm why? what's wrong about it? I thought it was quite a sad story
The graphic novel is better than the movie tbh though I still enjoyed the movie version.
Ianna Matney The graphic novel is quite more dramatic and sad, isn´t it? I haven´t read it but know how it goes and how it ends.
I was sobbing by the end of it. That movie hit me in the feels.
Watch "The Handmaiden". It's a korean film and you won't be disappointed.
We will check it out.
Best movie ever. Yep.
Another movie directed by a man that's full of inaccurate portrayals of lesbian sex inspired by porn lol.
Hahaha that movie makes mah ding dong crazy
It's based on The Fingersmith by Sarah Waters

does no one ever talk about "I can't think straight"? it's probably one of the best lesbian movies I've ever seen
Not Pxige I've heard about it. What happens in it
Woman about to get married to a man, falls for friend instead. Pretty basic plot, but still light-hearted and enjoyable.
I wonder which heterosexual at MsMojo is the one that made this list. Bc I doubt a a gay would make Blue Is The Warmest Colour number 1
I wouldn't put it at number one, but I've only seen two lesbian movies (Blue and Imagine Me & You). It's not that bad, at least in my opinion.
I would lol and I'm a lesbian.
Seriously, that's your problem? Not the movie about a lesbian who suddenly fell in lust with a man (The Kids Are All Right)?
Hha, i mean it isn't a bad movie at all but yeah, when i saw Carol as number 2 i was like what?! lol but its all good

They're not movies, they're TV shows

More Lesbian/Bi content yes!!

Y E S , the BEST moveie i've EVER seen
Yesssss
When Night Is Falling is one of my favorites, which is why I'm not surprised it didn't make the list.
But I'm a cheerleader should be number one, best movie ever
I'm pissed off, I hate blue is the warmest clolour. I watched it with some lesbian friends and we all agreed it's incredibly protentious and that the main girl was kind of a shitty character. If you were going to pick a great none American lesbian film why not "fucking Amal" I love "Fucking Amal" and it wasn't even an honourable mention.
Check out Lukas Moodyson's "Fucking Amal" or as it's also called "show me love".
Better than chocolate? Tipping the velvet? There's much more.
idk why everyone is hating on Blue is the warmest color, its definitely my favorite movie and deserves the first place! everyone's just concentrating on the sex scenes which is kinda sad bc the movie isn't about sex its about finding out ur sexuality and about being in love for the first time!
Exactly. 💙 Ignore the fools. That movie is gold.
Julia berger too much snot ...and fist swallowing
I just loved the aesthetic of 'but I'm a cheerleader'😩🙌🏻 does anyone know any other films with that kind of aesthetic? Also it was soo good
