- Phom Day, a peace building commission under Phom People's Council (PPC) commemorated 71 Years of Peace in the region by organizing a program under the theme, "Peace within, Peace beyond" with Shri. B. Bangtick Phom, Hon'ble MLA, 49 Assembly Constituency (A/C), Tamlu, Government of Nagaland as the Special Guests and Shri. A. Pongshi Phom, Hon'ble MLA, 50 Assembly Constituency (A/C), Government of Nagaland as the Special Guest for Unveiling the Phom Day Monolith on 6th June 2023.

My grandfather took initiative to guard our pioneer peace makers leaders to negotiate from village to village but never counted till 71st of Phom Day.😞 Happy Peace Phom Day ✌️

Can someone please tell me why phom are celebrating vicotrious day?? The reason behind it ..and moreover can someone please told me how manny festival phom used to celebrate in a year it's date and time and what does it signify???
Even after the India Independence Phom Tribe used to evil practice of head hunting. It was on the day of 6 June 1952, with two famous leaders of Phom could happened to bring well negotiate and understand among village to village to quit the evil practice of head hunting and to bring peace forever in the Phom Land. We have 1 major festival call “Phom Monyiü“ which we used to celebrate in the month of April 1-6. This festival is celebrate as rest taking and prayer offerings to the nature after seedlings is done. We also celebrate small festivals by different villages in different months. Which is before or after harvesting is done.
