The video is visually magnificent and must have cost a fortune to create, which I personally censure for the following reason. Given Qantas's recent shameful (bordering on fraudulent) treatment of its frequent flyer customers and Alan Joyce feathering his nest during this contentious period, the video smacks of smoke and mirrors. I was one of Qantas's victims, losing a significant amount of frequent flyer points during the Covid epidemic when it was impossible to travel. All attempts to reach them and redress my complaint were totally ignored. Also the actual safety directives are lost in this too long but captivating video.
@@lundimardi1975 Trust me, just one scene cost close to $10,000 to produce I believe. The ferry scene, although local, was very costly. They hired the Freshwater, the harbour's biggest and oldest ferry which costs quite a lot to operate. What happens when the pushback and taxi for the aircraft is less than 10 minutes? you just wait on the taxiway until it finishes? also I think you forgot the safety part of the video. It is entertaining for sure though
This is a stunning and beautiful production, but sadly you have buried the safety information in amongst lots of other information that looks like a TV show or movie. You are showing the life jacket on a boat? The information should be given in a clear and concise manner. This requires our attention for almost 10 whole minutes, and only a third of that is safety information. You didn't show how taking luggage can destroy the evacuation slide and block the access.
Did I just hear the pilot at the end of the video say we hope your trip is a safe one and we hope you get to your place again? I certainly hope it's safe and I also want to get to my place again !! Magic or not !! I wouldn't want the hear the pilot announce this to everyone just as we're about to take off !!
This is released just under 2 weeks before we fly qantas for the first time. Can't wait. Time to watch Edit: Just realised how unnecessarily long this is. The video almost completely misses the safety aspect. Yes, I know it'll be much shorter on flights, but it just isn't as good as the older safety videos Qantas had to offer. It's decent though

Visually magnificent video. Must have a cost a fortune to make, which I totally condemn considering Qantas's shameful (bordering on fraudulent treatment) of its frequent flyer customers, I being one who had a significant number of points taken from me during the Covid epidemic premier
Recently flew Qantas and after watching this safety video, I straight away tuned out. Compare that to JAL and ANA, their safety video is precise and concise.
I honestly think the old one is so much better. I would expect this to be a flight center ad not a Qantas safety video. They also need more Australian cities it’s an Australian airline not a Mexican airline or whatever The only bit I Found cool was the Hollywood bit.
I don't think a 9 minute video is necessary for a safety demonstration; this would have worked much better as a travel promotional video. People lose focus after a few minutes, particularly frequent flyers on something they have "seen" hundreds of times before. Qantas do well to showcase their network and the diversity of Australia, but for a safety video, I think different content would have been more helpful to passengers.
Since we voted no to the voice do we need the welcome to country.... Should pay respects to all the pilots and staff that hold the company together without them past and present the airline is done for
@@peterjackson2094you are right in that there are no direct routes to all destinations. But the final destination is accessible through the Oneworld partners.
The messaging is confusing as hell in this safety video! The 100 years one was considerably better, not to mention the AMAZING Virgin America safety video which was a song that covers all the bases (including the safety slide, which is missing here???) Cmon Qantas
While beautiful to look at, the message is lost in the destinations and people’s stories. Are we trying to be too inclusive and not regular Australian in our safety message. I loved the old one, kinda on point and about Qantas. This was more like a mini destination holiday movie. Beautiful all the same.
This is nice video, but I prefer 2007 animated version video that focus on safety as simply. I want to watch it again. ''Subtly, every aeroplane is different''
The Wiggles and their friends can categorise the following parts of this new Qantas safety video: - Simon and Caterina host the seatbelt part. - Lachy and John host the oxygen mask part. - Anthony and his daughter, Lucia, host the escape paths. - Dorothy the Dinosaur and Wags the Dog host the brace positions. - Henry the Octopus and Shirley-Shawn the Unicorn host the emergency exit techniques. - Bubbles the Mermaid and Bok the Hand Puppet host the importance of not smoking. - Captain Feathersword hosts the preparation for takeoff. - Tsehay and Evie host the life jacket part.
Truly magical video. I love it. You can play it several times on the flight and I won't complain. I haven't flown Qantas for a while but I will now, to watch the video but especially the reaction of other passengers reactions. Well done Qantas.
Well done everyone. I can't imagine how may of these videos I've watched worldwide. While I watch these, I usually feel it's tedious but necessary. This one really captured my attention. It was entertaining! Thanks.
As a qualified pilot THIS garbage is not a safety briefing in the slightest. I am surprised CASA hasn't brought Qantas to task over this! The safety of passengers in the air should always be the 1st and only priority. This is an advert NOT a safety briefing. Passengers and the safety of all on board could rest on people fully understanding what to do in the event of fire, water ditching or crash situation. Vital safety messages are lost in this garbage. CASA should get this pulled immediately. Qantas have gone downhill since Joyce and are still sinking When a Qantas plane suffers a catastrophe and lives a lost Heads should role
Got bored very quickly. Why would I care about what someone likes or where they are from in a safety video? Seems like an advertisement first with a safety message scattered in. The intended message gets very lost.
Its long, boring and tedious and people will lose interest in it very quickly. This is supposed to be a safety video and the safety aspect is lost. I am so looking forward to watching this long, drawn out drivel day in, day out - NOT! The previous safety video was far more engaging.
It’s good, but maybe too long. And also show the dangers of Baggage at evacuation. That is how that JAL flight evacuated everyone successfully. But I love the creativity.
Why did they make it seem like they actually fly to most of those places E.g. morocco and Lapland. Great viewing but, I've been bamboozled by the lack of safety messages and the misguided idea they fly to alot of these places.
I was reaching for the sick bag after the first 30 seconds of this 9.5 minute "safety" video and the nausea did not pass until I had finished watching this over-long - and no doubt very expensively produced video, the cost of which of course is ultimately passed on to passengers. Qantas have pursued the virtue-signalling wokeness to their cost as the fare-paying public seek alternative airlines which focus on their core objectives.
You lost me with that last line. Absolutely nothing here to do with "wokeness". That's not to say that it isn't costly, unnecessary, nauseating, and drawn-out entirely.
After watching that for over 9 minutes, I was looking for the escape slide!
This is the extend video, qantas should of said that, the real one is way shorter
Still boring, it’s not going to hold people’s attention, even if it was half the length if this video

Next few minutes? This is a whole gameplay.
Fabulous travelogue video; makes the safety messaging interesting.
no
I don't think a 9 minute video is necessary for a safety demonstration; this would have worked much better as a travel promotional video. People lose focus after a few minutes, particularly frequent flyers on something they have "seen" hundreds of times before.
Qantas do well to showcase their network and the diversity of Australia, but for a safety video, I think different content would have been more helpful to passengers.
too long too much information other than the essential info
Nice video! But disappointed they focus on destinations Qantas don’t fly too
Is the waterfall the escape slide?
nothin gwill beat the quantas centenary video
Milford sound and ningaloo reef looks great.
The video is good in my opinion as it shows the world in one video.
Since we voted no to the voice do we need the welcome to country.... Should pay respects to all the pilots and staff that hold the company together without them past and present the airline is done for
I love this journey around the world showing the magical places with different people in Qantas.
🤮
and many of the locations QAntas do NOT fly there!
@@peterjackson2094you are right in that there are no direct routes to all destinations. But the final destination is accessible through the Oneworld partners.
So many naysayers. I think it’s great.
@qantas can you pleaseeee post the shortened inflight safety video online please
The messaging is confusing as hell in this safety video! The 100 years one was considerably better, not to mention the AMAZING Virgin America safety video which was a song that covers all the bases (including the safety slide, which is missing here???) Cmon Qantas
best safety video ever!
Yes, the voice of Angela Catterns.
We've just visited Milford Sound! More destinations to go!
Nice video Qantas!
The Wiggles and their friends can categorise the following parts of this new Qantas safety video:
- Simon and Caterina host the seatbelt part.
내가 좋아하는 콴타스항공에 서울이 나왔어요.! 너무 기쁩니다^^
Is this an ad for Qantas, or the Pander Express™?
Very cool, Nestor. Very cool! Fabulous to see you getting a feature!!
Who remembers the "QANTAS safety checklist vid" of the early 2000s? At least this is better than that was!
Truly magical video. I love it. You can play it several times on the flight and I won't complain. I haven't flown Qantas for a while but I will now, to watch the video but especially the reaction of other passengers reactions. Well done Qantas.
Amazing work! This video is one that will make me feel safe whenever I fly Qantas.
Qantas have gone downhill since Joyce and are still sinking
When a Qantas plane suffers a catastrophe and lives a lost Heads should role
Video is way too long and too focused on advertising destinations. Completely misses the point of safety.
it is very beautiful, but also very long
Got bored very quickly. Why would I care about what someone likes or where they are from in a safety video? Seems like an advertisement first with a safety message scattered in. The intended message gets very lost.
Better not be a short taxi.
Max length for an airline safety video should be about 5 minutes. This one is TOO LONG! love the scenery throughout.
What a fun new video!
