I remember giving steady body an honest shot back when everyone was calling it trash (even the pros) and once I equipped it with quickslash I had the easiest time completing my first 112%. I’ve never stopped advocating for steady body, no matter if it was just me or a lot of new people thanks to fireborn advocating for it
Strength, quick slash, steady, sprint Master. (I only got 9 slots on my current first run due to botching Grimm troupe and something else I believe, which is also currently 110%). Pure DPS and deletion for just about anything. If you got more slots or trade out sprint for the extra Iframes charm, you can genuinely just face-tank most bosses, even radiance and hollow knight without breaking a sweat.
It is not useless , it's so good against flying bosses like the radiance , it helped me making a lot of damage while moving freely in mid air especially in the second phase , if it was't for it I would be kncked back off the platforms and fell and lose too much hp Great charm for aggressive style

My muscle memory is already dependent on knockback, and my build's last 2 slots are taken by Unbreakable Heart anyways to future-proof my own mistakes. EDIT: Essentially forgot to finish my sentence lol.
If you use range charms like Mark of Pride in the video you don't have to worry that much about contact damage, that with steady body and quickslash is an almost perfect combo
It's overall probably the best single notch charm On its own it's a bit meh but with quick slash it's just pure destruction you'll land more blows allowing for more damage Basically anything that can't combo you will wish I could and will die realizing it's moveset is a mistake
I just like the feel of the combat more when there's a knock back during hits making them feel stronger , also it sometimes feels like face tanking when using it because you just don't care for some given time what the enemy is doing

I prefer just having all my charms being for damage, and I in fact do enjoy the knockback I get from hitting, probably because my muscle memory from doing all radiants is already set in stone, though I've never equipped it once so I don't really have an opinion on it
I only use it in Godhome actually, more of a Nail Arts and Spell user myself. Muscle memory is sometimes a real pain to get rid of. But you use whatever strategy you are comfortable with.

So it's only a thing people use in the first playthrough of the game, at least most of the time. So this one is unnecessary for bossfights, but can still be equipped and became a sort of meme :)
Other than the gameplay benefits, I feel like steady body fits the knight's character so well. Just an unbothered, Unfazed, Undaunted and emotionless piece of void slaughtering the whole hallownest.

Having Steady Body in the Pure Vessel fight is surprisingly useful. You can position yourself near the enemy during the shafts of light attack that segments the area off into small regions and just wail on the boss without repercussion. By comparison, the recoil is normally enough to knock you back into the blade of light behind you otherwise.
I'm currently trying to beat Pantheon of Hallownest on my first playthrough. I have 112%, and I've used steady body throughout the game. It's really strong in almost every fight. I run Strength, Quick Slash, Steady Body, Nailmaster's Glory (for Grimm and dream fights), and Mark of Pride. Steady Body lets me melt everything, and I wholeheartedly agree that it really helps melt Pure Vessel, especially with the pillar attack.
The entire reason I equipped it was a similar reason, to hit Troupe Master Grimm during his cloak spikes. Never unequipped it since. I’m officially addicted to Steady Body

I may have to give this build a try. I usually opt for a more reserved, spell-based build, but trying out a hyper-aggressive nail focused loadout might be a fun change of pace EDIT: just beat pantheon 3 and ALMOST pantheon 4 with it after not playing for two weeks lol

Now that is a controversal opinion. Dashmaster is a lot of fun, especially with Sharp Shadow, as it increases the damage it does by 33%, and 50% for the Down Dash.

I’m on my first play through the game, and there is almost never a time where I want Steady Body unequipped. I have only taken one boss fight without it, which was Traitor Lord (I felt the knockback gave me a bit more time to react with a dash). The toughest bosses so far only got harder for me when I tried switching it out. I didn’t realize it was such a controversial issue. It’s only one charm notch.
Steady body is actually a good charm. My only problem with it (and probably why most people don’t use it) is it requires you to completely change your charm set up. It’s much easier to throw on shaman stone spell twister and quick Slash. That being said I respect people who use it purely because of the effort it takes. You have to completely change your play style to use this charm. If you truly master it is good but it doesn’t hold as much value when you can just shoot a couple shade souls ad get the same effect. It is very cool to watch though so even if it’s not practical it’s still cool. Though I would much rather put on wayward Compass as my one charm notch then steady body.

To be honest Steady Body only REALLY comes into play when you get skilled enough, it ain't really needed in the early/middle game and i am tired of people saying that "They got too used to SBody because they played with it and they can't play without it".
I don't use steady body for boss fights at all, always get me killed easily. Only use them when platforming through narrow pathways with traps and flies buzzing around. In contrast Stallwart heart is the one I always use when going go boss fights. Gives that extra time to deal damage and just jump around carefree.

easy s-tier i challenge any sbody hater to find a top player who doesnt think sbody is op. speedkills are a great example of this, my 16 second pv speedkills are only possible due to sbody and its measly 1 notch charm cost
@@AshenDust_ i was just giving an example. it is used far past speedkills. its a lot easier to do cool absrad dodges, you dont have to do upslash shenanigans (which have a shorter range and remove your upwards moment) and it makes like a lot easier to do a whole bunch of other stuff, like juggling basically any boss with a decent amount of knockback like hive knight, soul warrior and hornet 2. by your logic you're saying i think sharp shadow is a really goos charm. which is legit something i wouldn't be surprised you agree with

My main problem is lack of room. I don’t find that it increases my damage output as my core 4: strength, quickslash, shaman’s, and spell twister. Also because I don’t use it normally, I really struggle with it when overcharging for radiant.

As someone with a really aggressive playstyle, it's one of my favorite charms and I cannot live without it, unless I'm doing a spell build
The reason I love this game do much is just how much you can customize your playstyle with Charms.
Mehhhh I think it's sufferable sometimes, like with nightmare king Grimm where I use my knockback to position myself in some of his attacks

You have to learn NOT to take damage. Once you are in the end game level areas, steady body is the way to go and learning to avoid is a must.

My main problem is lack of room. I don’t find that it increases my damage output as my core 4: strength, quickslash, shaman’s, and spell twister. Also because I don’t use it normally, I really struggle with it when overcharging for radiant.

Steady body is essentially a reverse heavy blow because instead of putting more distance between you and your enemies it creates less.

I literally do this in the pantheons without steady body by, you guessed it, holding foward or stopping and holding foward
I recommend that you watch the second video I made on this charm, as it is way easier to see situations where holding forward simply does not work.
