Artists, Engineers, & Producers, DON'T BUY THE MOGAMI XLR CABLES….unless you got a Neumann U87 mic or the Song C800-G. These expensive make a negligible difference. #sokolovicinc #mic #xIrcable #mogami
It's not about the cable sound quality to me. It's about the reliability. I gig around 30 times per year. I hate it when a cable goes bad. I'd give the extra $$ right then and there to fix the problem.
It depends on the type of device maybe not necessarily how good it is. Just for example, mogami gold 1/4 balanced to XLR male , two of those sounds head and shoulder above any of my cheaper cables when I’m running my Behringer Poly D analog synth . I think most would agree the behringer poly D is a decent synth but it’s by no means a premium. Condenser mics that are built well (doesn’t have ti be a Neumann can also benefit). If you have a commercial studio, or are starting what you hope goes that way. Have a good interface , good monitors , run Mogamis For instruments have a pair of 1/4 trs mogamis and then have plenty of cheaper cables. Some things the difference will not be that noticeable , other items it absolutely make a difference. The more complicated the system , be it the human body, seeing a doctor about managing many medication, a gasoline engine , a complex gun, or a music studio , there is one key factor when engineering . Make ONE CHANGE at a time. These days a lot of people fill a cart with gear and it’s all on the door step. You go to plug it all in and you don’t really have objectivity. Go slow, add one thing at a time and evaluate things like cabling constantly. Cables are more like power tools, you carefully choose them, it’s ok to have a lot of low cost cables , and buy specialized when you discover it’s warranted.
I appreciate the in depth comment! that's actually what I'm currently doing, slowly building out my studio piece by piece. Since making this video, I have my TLM103 > Neve 1073 > Api 527A Comp. and it sounds saucyyyyy. I ended sticking with the HOSA cables. Works well, no interference, and sounds great
If you don’t want to build custom cables buy cables with a lifetime warranty. You will be able to go into the store that you bought them from and get a replacement.
the only people who ARE going to hear it are people who are audio freaks aka me. i always look at the specs for different cables on their website. i look at the numbers and evaluate them based on what i need them for
Look here buddy … if u have a 300$ mic or less u wont hear no difference very trueeee buttttt if u have a nueman u87 ai or sony 800 like myself u definitely want Mogami platinum my friend …. Well worth it and they last for many years Its like why buy a race gtr porche car 🚘 and put walmart tires on it lol 😅 u just wont lol
So why you asking for the most expensive broke boy, and there is a difference when you see your cheap cables falling apart and letting in interference to your wack song your gonna cry 😂
tbf the one that he was offered was kinda cheap, 25ft for $100 is not bad at all so probably wasnt a mogami gold but a mogami neglex with neutrik connectors

So if you’ve already purchased a U87, there’s an assumption you wealthy enough to purchase the Mogami?
@@HuttyTheKidi mean technically speaking yeah it’s a $3000 dollar microphone
WBC cables are made up of Mogami components for half the price, same cable.
Since I switch to Mogami Gold, I have never bought any brands again. No noise no issue best reliability. Best investment in the long run

you asked for the most expensive💀
I brought Mogami cables not for the sound quality but to solve very faint white background noise issues.
I think a better question for you to ask wouldve been, “whats your cheapest xlr cable?”
Usually one gets , what one pays for.
$100 for a 25ft Mogami is a bargain wtf
Ye. It's 90 each i think for the 3 ft cables i want lol

i got mogami because the static noise from my hardware is extremely reduced and not noticable anymore (rtx 4090 is crazy with coilwhine)
you asked for the most expensive one and bro told you😭 cheap ahh
