I’m glad someone sees the existence of Ragusa as I live in Croatia and I love to see historical kingdoms that once ruled over my countries land. You deserve more recognition and respect
Thank you for making a video of my hometown, it's prety accurate but there were a few minor mistakes with one that is big. Lapad was never separated from the mainland it was always a peninsula. The Laus was separated from the mainland as an island which is todays southern part of Old town and it was connected with its main street stradun and a few more streets
This fact about Ragusa beeing first to abolish slavery is not correct, Venice did it 3 centuries before Ragusa did, to spite and harm Genovese slave trade
Major mistake to call anything Croatian as Balkan. It means "turkified", what is turkified in Croatia, in Dubrovnik? It was created as a name by an Austrian from the word "Balken", which means "trapped". Balkan is a part of Europe that is ruled over by and/or trapped in a Turkish state of being. If anything Croatian was turkified, let alone Dubrovnik, it literally wouldn't exsist or would be completely different in every way. The sole existance of Croatians is based on resisting turkification and fighting of the Turkish culture .You created a paradox with your channel.
It never ceases to amaze how people can find issues where there are none. Balkan here simply refers to the name with which the Western world is accustomed to in regards to the particular geographical region of Europe that is in the south and is above the Greek peninsula… you know this too.
Contemporary sources have proved that the Republic of Ragusa had nothing to do with São Bras or any part of Goa, that entire area had been under complete Portuguese control since 1510. The church was also built by the Portuguese, the architectural style is the same as for other parish churches in Goa built during that same time period and doesn't resemble any Croatian churches. It's no mystery, Matisic and other Croat writers lied to exaggerate Ragusa's international importance.
Ragusa never resist against venice, venice have taked ragusa and.. with a war against hungary ragusan republic was created with venetian government style

BIG mistake NOT Lapad but the Laus (The Rock)! The steep rocky area of today's old city which was detached from the mainland.
Dubrovnik was the proud of the South Slavic nation.
The quarantine system was invented in the Bible fyi
A forty day separation from the camp
Quarantine meaning forty
