Damn dude, this is a great video. You perfectly described how I feel about most video games nowadays. I tend to spend a lot of my time returning to older titles that I know aren’t great mechanically, but I don’t care because they’re fucking fun. I tend to stay away from the discourse revolving around most modern games because it always seems to dissolve into annoying arguments and rants made by people who feel way too strongly about their opinion that they don’t accept when someone else’s opinion is different. You captured that idea near flawlessly, even in a short 7 minute video. Good work dude.
Also wtf is that 1000 dollar dlc bullshit lmao

    Who’s Makoto?
With that out of the way, I feel the need to comment something for the sake of boosting this video into the algorithm. It’s a crime that it has low views.
I don’t Roguelikes. I don’t like the progression for how slow it feels, and the randomly generated level design feels worst than just having it be handcrafted. Not to the games feeling repetitive with each run. But there’re a few exceptions to me.
Roboquest because I think it’s the best FPS Roguelike on the market. OTXO for basically being Rogulike Hotline Miami, with its banger soundtrack and absolutely satisfying gunplay. And the game I want to talk about, Cult of the Lamb.
People have criticized Cult of the Lamb for being style over substance and not being a good Roguelike due to how easy it is, but that’s one reason why I like it. The game is so easy to the point that it doesn’t feel like a roguelike, which as someone who doesn’t like Roguelikes is a plus in my book. And the game really is more about caring for your cult, which can be more fun than the combat itself.
So yea, good vid. Also, great video on Hi-Fi RUSH. I enjoyed that game a lot.
