lol awesome intro Jay. The Origin at that price is truly a tough sell when not only does it have to compete with other top-notch dynamic driver IEMs much cheaper than it like those Simgots, but it also has to face other multi-driver config iem at the same bracket. That's not to mention the price bracket of $200-$500 is quickly becoming more irrelevant by the days due to how much the lower bracket has advanced both in terms of tuning & tech.
I got the LM just now and I like it just as much as the Choppin and definitely more than the Hexa. It's crazy how much value you get from the LM. Like I would even say it's officially a benchmark for $89 iems no question.
man I love ur honesty, all other reviewers were praising it but u were honest and truthful. So I will try the origin but I will purchase the ea1000 because the seller gave me a nice discount on it which 10% cheaper than origin.
Wow! the Fermat really set the bar on how under $300 iem should sound like and also the LM as quite as good as the Fermat for much cheaper price. Hopefully Simgot will continue their current pace right now.
Love how you never sell any of these sets and are honest about your preferences! Some other reviewers repeat the brand and model names so many times that it feels like outright advertising!
Keep it up man 👏, among the reviewers you are one the most sincere and real, also, have you heard the album Laminate pet animal? ( also a hidden gem!! haha )
It's crazy seeing the LM being compared and going 'toe to toe' with the likes of Fermat and more, Simgot really outdid themself with the LM. Great seeing Tanchjim pulling off a beautiful set hope they have a great year in 2024 Happy Chinese New Year !
That fine, fragile nuancing and clarity of the Fermat is exactly what I’m playing with atm as well. I’ve found that a 500 mesh on the red nozzle maybe destroys a bit too much air/detail. Whereas you can hear note decay/full note sound without any mesh, mesh adds more bass and then that kinda goes away a little bit. Maybe either 300 mesh on red, or 500 on black perhaps.
@@jayyaudio Yeah, I’ll try that one tomorrow. Red nozzle is the best airiness and tactility overall (and the best nozzle overall), but have you found any way to mod the black nozzle by any chance?
No really a better oxygen- just a different tuning in my opinion. If you actually look at tanchjim’s FR official squiglink the tanchjim is basically their target. The origin is another flavor, perhaps more tamed / tucked in tuning 2024 flavor of the month tuning. Y’all need to stop w/ “better” analogy do I think $50 iem is better $600 based on price no!!!(i own 50-600 iems)
I got the LM this past week and I’m really loving them. It definitely made me wonder if I’m ever going to use my Kato again. Wondering why no comparison to them? Is it just because the Kato is too old to be worth comparing?
New sub and newbie here. You got me really interested in the 500LM. My EM6L nozzle came off and needed replacement. I’m wondering if I should get the LM to get by and watch the 2024 go down. Or just grab the Xenns Top. I can get the top new for $435 brand new.

Hey Jay, I am having a huge dilemma wether I should the Origins or the Timeless AE. I am relatively new to IEMs so any tips should be greatly appreciated.
My brother, I hope you can answer if you are limited and do not have a choice of any of them Moondrop Aria 2 7HZ Legato iem They are worth the price, and I will feel a big difference if I upgrade to them from devices priced at $20. I love the warm sound and BASS, but I also love the details and the wide stage of it. They are good at that.
does it sound beautiful ? actually not everyone likes super dynamic , special sauce bright sound . seems like origin would be perfect set for my test . I was expecting more detailed comparison with quintet \ performer 5 , blessing etc
jay for the newies into iems can you explain how does this bass signature(low sub bass cutting through mid bass) sound in comparison to the harman(zero red,cca trio)and the harmanish with more midbass(chu2,cadenza,ew200 etc, etc, etc)will it play hip hop and edm decently?is it for especific genres?
This is a cleaner sound, mid bass gives more impact to drums whereas subbass is mostly for sub woofers. For hiphop something like the, RED, TRIOA, and ZIIGAAT Doscinco would be the best pick (mid-bass + sub-bass)
I feel like if they priced the origin around 200-230 and tuned it more consistently between units from factory, then it would've been a market disrupter.
Yoo im coming from the og arias and kato’s and im tired of the muffled issues overtime on those sh**. However the kato sound fine to me, so i was wondering what iem is a good upgrade to it (around $300 budget) and i want to maximize it as much as possible, but i keep seeing people saying it’s not worth 2 or 3x the price compared to its competitors
Yea, I have the Oxygen and EA1000. The only other single DD I want to try out in this price range is the Falcon Ultra and then probably go straight to the Twilights if at all. Everything else seems like more of the same thing.
I was ready to pull the trigger on EA500lm until it was mentioned none of these sets are great for high volume unless moded. I like to listen loud. Can you or anyone reading this please recommend the best set around $100-150 that scales really well at high volumes?
I got the ea500lm last week but I haven’t gotten around to messing around with the different nozzles/rings that came in the box. Do you have any recommendations that might improve how it sounds?
@@justastest I share the same sentiment regarding that comment section, if ppl truly have heard both the Aria 2 & Simgots, almost everyone would definitely agree that the Simgots (500LM & Fermat) are both more technical than the A2, so for Timmy and them fanboys to keep double down on how they are just on par with A2 on this regard, it's just outright lying.
