One of my favorites! My German/Vietnamese friend made this once and, my golly!, it was beyond fabulous. I’m so happy you shared this! Now I can make it and enjoy it with my 10 yo son. He can help me make it! Thank you!
GREAT, thanks! I was just researching what to use to substitute. I had found that you should add some confectioner's sugar and corn starch. But I like the pudding idea. Will try that next time.
i live in texas , and i miss milchschnitte and germany too. You can also get those ingredients, especially sahnesteig at HALAL groceries too.(Like turkish stores, etc..) danke für das rezept. ❤️
My son called them "kiminis" when he was a toddler, and that's the term we've been using ever since. I've moved to the US, since, and yeah I miss my kiminis! As well as Mohrenkoepfe.
@@MyGermanRecipes I learned a few months ago I am of German descent (I was adopted) so this has been helping me get in touch with that side. I am so ready for the new recipes!
What did your children think? I'm sure they loved it. Your pronunciation of marscapone was spot on. One of my favorite cheeses, so buttery. Did you use whole milk?
They loved it and thought it came very close to the original. I had to bake it some more times because they couldn't get enough of it. Mascarpone is really delicious, especially in Tiramisu! :-)
Hi, I am from Hamburg, too 😀👍. But I lived in other places in Germany for some years before I went back to Hamburg at age 18. Now we‘re in TX since almost 10 years 😲
We live in the suburbs of Nashville, Tennessee. PS: My husband guessed you were from either Hamburg or Hannover based on your accent. Best to you and your family from your newest subscriber! I always want to find recipes that remind him of home. But I have fierce competition. His mother is a retired chef, his brother is a chef, and our only nephew is a chef.
K L Yes, luckily I‘m not from Hannover, that place is super boring 😆. I haven‘t been to Nashville, yet, but I will probably go there with my daughter next spring. There is a weekend seminar for singers that my daughter‘s vocal coach highly recommends.
Ach du lieber Gott, this is my favorite desert and they don't have them in America. Every time I go visit my family in Germany, the first stop is always the grocery store and eat an entire box of these beauties. No offense America, I love you but you don't know good food. Growing up in Germany and living with a pastry chef/Bakery store owner and a butcher store owner(Oma, Opa, Mutter und Vater), I got really spoiled. To the woman that runs this channel, you are wonderful, like you, I am the cook and baker in this house and you do am amazing job, your husband is one lucky you know what. Oh yeah, I just discovered your channel and I love it.

A stabilizing trick I learned was about 1 teaspoon of instant vanilla pudding mix to the cream.
Yes, that sounds very reasonable and a good idea! Thank you for sharing this 👍
If you use confectioners sugar instead of the granulated kind, you'll get the same effect.

Love this recipe, I really miss the milchschnitte from the days I lived in Germany, will definitely try this recipe!
That looks delicious. Definitely going to try this as I miss my Milchschnitten.
I miss it too. They don't have it in the US. Thank you for sharing this.
Looks like a delicious treat and certainly worth trying. Thanks
I can't wait to try out this recipe. Thank you for sharing! It's a treat I greatly miss when I lived in Germany. That and pretzel buns! 😋
THANK YOU!!! I miss these soooo much!!!
I totally understand 😋😁

Where are you from in Germany? My husband was born and raised in Hamburg but has lived in the U.S. since in his 30s.

I’m a native Texan! Best of both worlds in my home.

Can I replace maskarpone to cottage cheese
No, that would taste totally different and also be too wet.
