A lot of the set is actually practical, including the scenes that look CGI! Of course things like the sky and distance are CGI, but the ground and nearby things like trees are actually real, which surprises me because somehow they made a real set look fake in the first trailer and I think that was due to how saturated they made the movie at first. Lowering the intensity on the saturation in the second trailer makes the movie look much more realistic and allows the fantastic practical work to truly shine in my opinion. I recommend watching the behind the scenes video they posted recently for a better look at the practical work!

You should check out the Behind the scenes and featurettes! The props and sets are actually 100% practical! They look fantastic! As a positive individual who values creative freedom in adaptations, I'm actually optimistic about the movie! (And remember, there will be a Netflix animated series too. Live-action and animation adaptations can and should coexist harmoniously. It just a matter of execution and care from the creatives.)

I do think the second trailer was better, and it's funny that they did a take two at the start, as in "we knew people didn't like the first trailer, so we're trying again". I agree with people's complaints from the first trailer though. That the aesthetics are very 2015 Minecraft merch art style, the humans just look weird against the background (and honestly I can't stand any of the human characters yet), and the animals, like the sheep and llama, just look cheap or dated. I don't know if I've been sold on going watching it yet

They're still using the wrong crafting recipes lol. I'm glad they actually gave more context to why Steve isn't actually THE Steve though. So my guess is all those people are from video games besides Steve and the kid holding the cube. That's an interesting take.
Listen I’ve been in the camp of being positive and unironically excited for this movie because come on it’s Minecraft plus it’s a game that is super important to me personally I have to at least try to look at this movie from a positive perspective
