I’ve lived in Florida a long time…this is hardly “rare.” And I care more about practical real solutions to help people when this hits not officials doing absolutely nothing while whining about global warming again. They’re probably happy this is happening and hope we all die so we don’t vote them out of power soon

I’ve lived in hurricane susceptible states since 1989. My husband and I are elderly and retired. We live in the south-western corner of Pasco county , almost on the Hillsborough County line, (Tampa). You are only mentioning the western side of our county and saying nothing about our side of the country. Please tell us what we can expect since we are so close to Tampa.
High winds and possible flooding from the Hillsborough River or its overflow canal. I evacuated to Tampa from N.O. for Katrina many years ago and lived in Dade City for awhile so I know a little bit about your area.
A direct hit is what they are saying. If your home is older not up to hurricane 🌀 resistant standards, flee. If the area is not elevated for floods, flee.
