Whenever I watch Marine's part, I can't help but overhear the voice of Suisei screaming over it when she streamed her reaction to the Countdown/Medley. Suisei : "DON'T STAIN SUCH A GOOD SONG!"
The parts where it goes off the rails is the best part. First we're treated to Kana-gori's ultimate form. Then we get Nene's amazing rendition of Polka's song! Kobo hit it out of the park with Bae's song and she had the moves! Then Yamada looking like a cute gaki imitating mom. Marine of course doing something risque. Ayame's was tame but she chose a good catchy song. Gura being goomba, who can say no to that. Finishing off with OkaKoro, and they had good songs as well. And yet despite all that, I still think last year's was better bc it completely blew your mind away. I mean with MiComet duet's Stellar ending! Moona in Peko outfit! Haa-chama's amazing performance. Knight Shuba switcheroo! Wata-oji's amazing Towa outfit. Suisei's stellar performance + Aqua outfit which is so amusing. But the thing is, it was clean! Like so perfectly executed and impactful! I mean you have such meaningful relationships, the most catchy songs, purposeful choreography, seemless transitions, amazing sets, great cinematography that draws you in! Last year: A This year: B+

It was a full on Hololive Cinematic Universe where you had to watch Peko-Moon story arc, to be rewarded with Moona cosplaying the Peko outfit. The whole year was a MiComet year, Suisei went on The First Take and that was the final song! The stages were better and had a well coordinated theme. Their performances were better, Haa-chama's treasure chest alone had twice the impact of Marine and Kanata. I mean I love the humor of Kana-gori and Marine, they're great but not as explosive as Haa-chama's performance. Firstly, Marine's song Haa-chama sang was crazy good, but she spiced it up with an amazing reveal! What a performance! Now Oka-Koro, did they tie the performative gesture into a duet together in the end? No. Were the songs as good as Stellar Stellar? No. Do they have a cinematic universe for the feels? Yes, but this is not the year of Oka-Koro like the previous year was the year of MiComet's budding business partnership.

The fact that even the Hologra part of the New Year complemented the story with every talent that on the same changing room are the ones that singing together as a group also makes the hologra a part of the lives itself. So good with all the small detail, like the fans in Ollie and Miko room, I understand if they don't want to release a separate Episodes cause the lives tehnically part of the story itself and the hologra can be more enjoyable after watching the lives.
I was in Bae's stream watching it. She was completely drunk lol. The moment Kobo changed clothes, Bae lost her mind. She was screaming(cheering) through the whole thing lol.

With 123 comments I'm sure someone's explained this already, but just in case: the reason Exodia appears behind Ayame is that Hololive JP's 2nd generation (Aqua, Shion, Ayame, Choco and Subaru) have almost never collabed all together as a generation - you might sometimes catch one or two of them together, but actually getting all five in one place is "as difficult as assembling all 5 pieces of Exodia". Fortunately, Yagoo, my grandpa's deck HAS no pathetic cards!
From what I recall, Oshio-mama requested that Kanata's 3d model gets no "chest bones", (idk if that's the right term) that way it was absolutely impossible to put boobs on her. Also I've heard Kanata is the only "daughter" that gets this treatment 😅
Korone and Okayu recently had a Splatoon collab with an announcement where they were asked if the announcement would be their marriage. First Korone was annoyed that viewers could think they'd announce their marriage in a Splatoon collab (although Okayu remembered that they also played Splatoon in their first collab, so it's kinda appropriate)... then she said that being married wouldn't change anything for them anyway lol Well, congratulations!
To expand on this: Okayu has confirmed in a following stream that 'The rings just mean our characters are married. Just because we exchanged rings in-character doesn't mean we're married in real life.' Whether or not to believe her is entirely a personal decision.

To explain the cards for those who aren't informed: The unofficial nickname for Hololive JP Gen 2 (Ayame, Subaru, Choco, Shion and Aqua) is HoloExodia, because they come together so rarely, but when they do, the collab is always amazing, much like with Exodia the Forbidden One in Yugioh being phenomenal when all the pieces come together.

I think Chloe herself was in the intro to the medley when the switches started as Shion because I noticed the black streaks of her hair, and we all know Shion's model doesn't have that kind of buff in the, well you get the idea.
La+ is a really good dancer. But yeah, I am almost certain the Medley is animated rather than motion tracked. So it is possible they did indeed do that.

1:20 As someone who isn't as informed as other Hololive fans, could someone please explain these minotaur-like entities performing alongside Ookami Mio? I know that they are mentioned in Mio's Special in the fan game Holocure, but that's it. Initially, I thought that they were just minotaurs, but for some reason(and I could be imagining things here when I say this), it looks like they have bird heads rather than bull heads.
They are called 'Hatotaurus', a "Stand" mascot created for Mio by Fubuki during a kindergarten RP collab stream a few years ago. As you could probably guess, Mio was a teacher, and Fubuki was one of the students during said stream.
Every now and then, if I need to smile, I will seek out Bae’s drunken reaction to Kobo doing Play Dice. Simultaneously the loudest and most wholesome reaction possible.

Exodia has become a sort of nickname by the fans about Gen 2 because unlike other Gens of Hololive, the 5 of them barely collab together all at once. There might be two of them doing a collab together (like Subaru and Choco, or Aqua and Shion), but seeing all 5 members of Gen 2 together at once is usually very rare, which is why the fans nickamed Gen 2 as "Exodia"

1:20 As someone who isn't as informed as other Hololive fans, could someone please explain these minotaur-like entities performing alongside Ookami Mio? I know that they are mentioned in Mio's Special in the fan game Holocure, but that's it. Initially, I thought that they were just minotaurs, but for some reason(and I could be imagining things here when I say this), it looks like they have bird heads rather than bull heads.

They are called 'Hatotaurus', a "Stand" mascot created for Mio by Fubuki during a kindergarten RP collab stream a few years ago. As you could probably guess, Mio was a teacher, and Fubuki was one of the students during said stream.
Kind of hard to notice without pausing and looking for it, but during the Parade end, OkaKoro were both wearing the rings on their left ring finger.

BTW, the Exodia cards were a reference to Hololive Gen 2 (Subaru, Choco, Aqua, Shion and Ayame). Exodia has become a sort of nickname by the fans about Gen 2 because unlike other Gens of Hololive, the 5 of them barely collab together all at once. There might be two of them doing a collab together (like Subaru and Choco, or Aqua and Shion), but seeing all 5 members of Gen 2 together at once is usually very rare, which is why the fans nickamed Gen 2 as "Exodia"
