I don't know why many people complain about the above Thermometer can not give output about 37*C when measuring body tempeature. Body tempeature is the tempeature that your body "MAINTAINS INSIDE" body for an enough period of time, not on skin. The skin must always be cooler than inside body. Because human lose heat to the around evironment every breath and the human skin has the ability to cool down itself (some animals won't have the such ability). The fact that any thermometer that gives the tempeature around 37*C is not the real tempeature of your forehead skin, the sample that it' measuring directly, and also not the real body tempeature, but that is the adjusted output to estimate indirectly the body tempeature.
Your exterior temp won’t be 98.6. Assuming your internal temp will normal then you scan your forehead. It should read less than 98.6 but maybe 93-94. Once you get a base line yiu then can extrapolate the number. And in theory if you had say a fever temperature of 101 then the exterior skin scan would be higher than ssyb993-94
it would be real impressive if you compared with a contact-thermometer, like scientists would do.
can we calibrate this again?mine "cheats" 4 degrees ex.36.6c shows it 32.6c
What is normal body temperature as per this thermometer
Well mine, cheap as380 is about 3 degrees off, was measuring my skin temp, it showed 33, used my multimeter probe and it was 36 degrees, similar to my baby thermometer

I have a Hold feature on my HT-817 IR gun and what is it for? Lost my manual.
Most IR guns auto-hold. It comes up scan while the trigger is pulled. Higher end ones can display min or max during a scan session.

An actually 94°F is normal, because 94° in Fahrenheit is 34° Celsius. So it's normal

That laser can be dangerous to a human eye..especially on child..and not accurate on human..its an industrial type..
Don't use these to measure body temperature
These things are inaccurate POS. The LASER doesn't measure the temperature. The Infrared sensor does.
Mine is off by 3.2C or 37.76F comparing to a calibrated infrared thermometer. Wow what a garbage product!
