Honestly, being poor is mentally and physically stressful. Working from young means that you have to juggle school, work and play, and if you are not good at managing your time or mix with the wrong crowd, your life can derail real quick without any backup plans to save you. You essentially become a "failure", until you can earn enough money as a redeeming factor. Being poor is a demerit, earning $$ is to compensate for it, rather than complement ur life. That's why it is so stessful to grow up poor and it affects how you view $$ and ur values so much. Personally, my own hobby of ice skating burned a huge hole in my pocket, and juggling a part time job and school to fund my hobby was mentally stressful, to the point i gave up a lot of opportunities for dating and social life as it is eating away at my potential earnings

In some sense what they say is true but there is always a different perspective - like depending on who they compare themselves with, choosing to be grateful instead of expecting more, etc.
stop blaming everyone else for your ‘poor’ life - no one has perfect parents. Even rich kids can compare their parents with ‘richer’ parents but really, just make do with what you have and work hard for your own life! All of you are adults now and way too old to be lamenting / unforgiving towards parents. Be grateful that parents gave you what they had and tried their best - there is no end to comparison. Parents don’t owe you a wealthy life / childhood btw.
This is why I feel this discussion kinda lacks depth. Everyone is discussing things on a pretty superficial level and ruru is the only voice offering a sort of different perspective (1v3).
