I purchased that exact model. I ordered a half size down from my Brannock size and they fit perfectly. I've already walked a few miles in them with no noticeable break in period. Very comfortable boots. It appears to be a stitchdown to the midsole. Not glued. However, I only paid CAD $101 shipping and duty included. SO if the sole wears out, I probably won't repair them. But I expect they'll last a long time.
Well, if anyone knows for sure, I would like to know as detailed information online is non-existent. I do not want to misrepresent the construction quality of this boot! Also, I do care about the quality and durability of what I review. This is one of the main things i look for in a shoe or boot & if this is not a goodyear Welt & Stitch Down sole I need to revise the description and the video.
@@GrassRootsOpinions Goodyear welt and stitch down are two mutually exclusive things. They are not used together. These boots are cemented, it's quite well known in the boot community.
These are part of the Taft 365 line. They do not claim to have a veg tan midsole nor do they claim Goodyear welting or anything regarding construction. These are glued together boots. I have the exact same pair. I got mine for like $50. If you pull the upper apart from the sole, you can see the glue that adheres it together. There's some misleading information in this video. I think you mean well but this is simply a nice looking glued together boot from a brand that also has higher end stuff. Referencing Trenton and Heath on their take of Taft's higher end stuff and using it here is unfair. I like the boots btw. I knew what I was getting into.
Taft provides zero information on the boot construction on line (at least when I checked), If you have something in writing post the source? (Also, stitch down soles are also glued from what i have seen).
You'll have to read between the lines on this one. Taft mentions construction and materials used in their products outside of the 365 line. These are not stitch down. They're posing as Goodyear welted boots. Grab one of them and pull apart the midsole from the upper. See it for yourself. If they were actually gyw, you'd see the stitching being pulled on but lo, you just see glue. You also mentioned that these are supposed to have a leather midsole and again, where did you get that information? You're absolutely entitled to your opinions but I'd sure hate if a viewer watches your video and buys this boot based on incorrect information.
A good-looking boot. Especially for a leather boot under 100 bucks. It's a great looking, affordable, casual, everyday wear.

I *believe* the 365 series from Taft is cemented construction. But the leather isn't terrible and if its comfy, that's all that really, truly matters.

If I saw that a boot that was claimed to be maid in Portugal, Spain but was made in China, I’d send them back for a refund.
