Having lot's of glowing recommendations attached to your LinkedIn profile is a great way to tell the business community around the world about your career achievements to date, or how you’ve helped others or even just about the good old-fashioned business success stories you’ve had along the way.
And in some ways LinkedIn recommendations are a modern-day version or what could also be called a reference or testimonial, and in the increasingly online world that we live in LinkedIn recommendation I believe are essential for everyone in business these days.
So how do you go about getting LinkedIn recommendations without having to call up someone on the phone or send an email or whatever?
Well LinkedIn make this process easy and, in this video, I'll show you exactly ask for a LinkedIn recommendation with only a few clicks of your keyboard and all from the comfort of wherever you happen to be.

thanks for the examples, seems most job videos like this focus on that you should do x but less on how for those of us that launch into irrational, wordless panic when it comes to job hunting.

Thanks for sharing the video. DO you know how to move the recommendations section to the top of your LinkedIn profile, so its instantly shown when people click on the profile? it will be very useful, thanks so much.
hmmm okay, well going back a few years LinkedIn use to allow rearranging of the sections of our profile and bring the recommendations sectiosn to the top for everyone to see was a tip I use to promote. However a few years ago they stop us being able to rearrange. Let me do some more research to see if there is a new way for us to now do this

That's valuable information Mark. Can you also help me in knowing how to attach any appreciations received?
well if its a recommendation you can request them from your connection and they automatically get attached. Or can attached them in the featured section up the top of your profile. And don't forget to send me a connection request on LinkedIn as well
Can we import the reviews from different social media, so that they don't want to repeat. Is cut and paste allowed by the referrals.
Unfortunately we cant import reviews from other sites onto our LinkedIn profile @sumahomes8177. However yes you could activate the Featured section which has prominence near the top of your profile and yes you could sort of cut n paste the comments into that section
Thanks for the guidance. You are an expert. Can I ask one more question? Do we have limit for sending messages for group members (they are not 1st,2nd or 3rd degree connections)
Everytime I try to request a recommendation, LinkedIn tells me that I have already done so with this person. How do you retract a request, or how do you send a reminder. It might have been years since I first approached some of these people. thx
on the desk top version TeacherCast click on the My Network tab at top and then click on manage and and then you will see received invites and sent invitations so click on sent and then you can withdraw the invitation
@@markwarncken Thank you, but those are directions for inviting people to connect with you. I was asking about how to ask someone for a recommendation that you perhaps already asked several months or years ago. LinkedIn doesn't seem to be able to let you reask the same person. Is there a way to remove the first ask for a recommendation and then reask?

How to enable my endorsement? I can endorse others but if anyone tries to endorse my skills there is no endorsement option showing in my skills for them.

I haven't looked into LinkedIn endorsement for a while now Sandy as they've really become almost irrelevant because everyone was endorsing everyone for everything. Have you listed activated the endorsement section and listed skills as that's the first step.
Hello Mark. This is a great video. If a non Linked in user email me a recommendation in outlook, can i post that recommendation in my Linked in profile?

To have a LinkedIn recommendation showing on your LinkedIn profile just like I show in the video it all needs to be done through LinkedIn you both need to be connected on LinkedIn. If someone was to email you a recommendation you could I suppose cut n paste that and have it showing in your summery section but it then looses credibility

My Linkedin doesn't have the option on requesting recommendation with I clickon a partucular network personnel. How come?
um um not sure why that would be the case Aeronic. I showed 2 ways to request a recommendation by memory in my video so have you tried both
@@markwarncken both is not in the options... maybe because I am not paying and just using the free one.

hi mark how can we receive job recommendations from different countries...there was an option i went crazy trying to find it
when you do a job search I think there is an option to save that search and receive notifications when similar jobs are posted
