  • This is a demonstration of my Vintage Telex Instaload XL 2200 Series 16mm Film projector model 2210. This is my first time testing it. I have had it for months but never got around to testing it. This was also a eBay find.
Uses a halogen projector lamp. Works flawlessly. Features a HI/Low lamp setting. On low the lamp voltage is 22 volts and the bulb will last around 150 hours.
On high the voltage is the full 24 volts and the bulb will last around 50 hours. The bulb is a ELC style 24 volt 250 watt halogen. Easier to load then the Kodak.

I remember these from the 80's when I was in grade school. Was always exciting to watch a film during class...

That reminds me very much of the ones we had when I was in high school. I don't remember the brand of those but it loaded in almost the exact same fashion. Had the lever on the back like that as well. Also used springs as drive belts for the supply and take-up reels.
How did you splice the films together, I mean what did you use? I think back in the day they had some sort of "film cement" that was used for a permanent splice.
As for the "iffy" moments of the film, theoretically you could cut out the bad part and resplice it back together, of course losing the footage in that place. And yes, that's where the term comes from, actual "footage" of film.

Films today are spliced using special tape. This is what I use.

I'm looking to buy this exact model this week... before I did, how large of an image can this thing throw?.. like what kind of adjustments can you make to the size, and lens etc?... the one I want might only have one spinning reel up top... any way the other one can be acquired somewhere? Thank you so much for any help!!!

How do you replace the bulb?

I'll have to dig out the projector but there should be a door that opens and the bulb should just pop out.

@@lexmarks567 I’ll keep at it! I’m sure I’ll figure it out with enough yanking! Thanks though!

Tell me what you used to get sound to your stereo system.

i used a patch cable with one end plugged into the speaker jack on the projector and the other plugged into the AUX jack on the stereo. You will need a mono to stereo adapter jack and possibly a 1/4 inch to 3.5mm adapter also.
