Picked up my Revere a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for the instruction! Would've been lost without it.
That;s great to Hear! - The 8mm that was around this same time works exactly the same way too!
Please check my description for my choice for the best oil for this unit - thanks :-)
Do you have any idea why the clutch would not engage in the direction?
the clutch should engage in both directions... are you asking because your unit only works in a single direction? - the demo shows how to move the reverse lever and then you can engage the clutch in reverse, and vice versa.
@@mediacreationsusa it doesn't engage in either direction.
@@cheryllutz476 even with the other lever fully moved to one direction or the other? - if so, then the cam that is inside the arm is most likely broken or another part of that linkage. - Be sure that lever for direction is fully engaged
@@mediacreationsusa I set up the projector again today. Does the projector require film to be loaded in order to see the reel wheels turn? When I move the lever from one direction to the other, the sound changes as if it is engaging, but i do not see the wheels for reels turning. I hope that makes sense. Would it be easy to access cam in the arm that you are referring to?
@@cheryllutz476 You don't need reels on it to have it work, the bottom spindle should be turning in FWD and the top would be turning in the other direction when you move the lever to the RWD or Rewind position. - you can start by taking off the arm backs there are several small screws - be careful and take your time so you don;t loose the screws. it's fully mechanical - I think these used chains back then but there might be belts - I can't recall on the 48 but you will see the problem if you pull those.
I put sewing machine oil... ?
Yeah, that would ok, but I find the newer oils that are synthetic based do a better job, unless yours is already? then great!
