Grandma is right, culture is very important, I remember when I lost ma grandpa, ma Grandma went through all this things. God bless Ghana.
Grandma God blessed you with wisdom and knowledge and properuso and long life my Grandma
Well done Grandma I wish you long life
That’s very true. I have been through that. Even if people visit you, you have no right to explain what happened, someone is to speak on your behalf. You can’t shake hands with anyone one. Someone is selected to be with you always as companion.
Yes!! The widow cannot even receive Money, l mean can't even stretch her hands to receive some Money & so you have to walk with someone you really trust. That person Will speak Money on ur behalf.
Very educative. The old lady has done justice to the subject: God bless her. It shows the depth of the world view and thoughts of our ancestors and the extent they value family matters. Let us uphold our family values, because they are very comprehensive and promote social harmony.

God bless you very much for this page. Grandma, you are golden to us with your teachings on our culture. Live long with good health so we call learn more.❤❤❤❤
What the old lady is saying is true....i remembered when my dad died my partenal family brought some drinks to inform her and her family that her husband has died, though she was with my daddy when he died.
Africans (Ghana) we must get back to our root, that's how we can be great again God bless grandma 👵 🙏🏽
Thank you very much for Madam. May you live long.
Hello……God bless the old lady historian for this insightful interview. And thank you too for a wonderful presentation.
Please, bear with me,Can you talk about Dr.Grace Boadu’s ex-husband at her funeral grounds and all the chaos that went on there?
I humbly ask,….thank you and stay blessed!
The interviewer is very good in asking the questions
Grand mum good job ,I love your explanation, they did the same to mum .The family the whole Ghanaian's should start it again, and don't have to thrash it away. Its our culture and our great, great parents brought it .Even Any other Africa country still they do their own culture if husband or wife passed away. Queen mother good job. 👍
Nana,God Richly Bless you for your Good Explanations!Live Long and we ❤❤❤ you !
Nana well done u are the people that we need for U are the best we thank for your teachings God bless you
THANK U Grandma. Politics is Destroying our. Culture
Hmmmmm
Christianity is destroying our culture period
Culture is very, very important.
Well done very good interview watching from Wolverhampton UK 🇬🇧
Educative and enlightening. Thanks old lady.
What she's saying is true. My daughter was living with her husband, she took her to KATC when his sickness got serious after months of suffering. When he passed, I had to arrange for her to immediately come and stay in my house right from the hospital before the family came to us to inform her and our family of his death even though she was the one with his at the ICU for days. Questionable but that's our culture.
so what is the point ?
let us take a sound stand, what is the point of having to wait to be told when you know the person died in you presence . i do believe culture is a part of life but sometimes some things re quite redundant . this is how people breed speculations and that is how families are given upper hands in the days past . you may know the truth of our husband's demise but what the family wants to be known is what will be perpetuated, it has hurt families in times past. i am Akan, i like some of the culture but if you understand how some of these cultures affected people you will understand sometimes growing up from "culture " is how we break from some of these things . she didnt try with all she did , god bless the old lady and keep her, i do believe some of these have to be laid to rest
@@derricksouzey4239 Our culture was paired with the extended family system, which made our culture expansive. In recent times, we're used to the nuclear family system, which has erased the matrilineal system of inheritance and made most of these practices redundant
Our heritage our pride
How I wish I could spend many days with her learning these customs and traditions
This time those coming don't know anything mum u ve done a great job people must learn from you it's true speaking thanks
It's true because I remember my father has to do same
Great program and knowledge packed❤
We have special and unique customs practices to teach our young generations,
not all should be taught . some are redundant , respect is what should be taught, the woman did not show that
Marvelous indeed! What a rich culture
are you serious 🤔
The reason why somebody have to guide her or he is that, what has happened to her or she is a terrible thing, she or she can harm herself or himself
Ashanti's are intelligent to guide you not to harm yourself
Wow wow wow Nice ONE
I told my friends in U S that the woman’s family should stop her not to give interviews
I saw all these Nanahemaa saying
Very educative
It's not the politicians o , we have rather forgotten our culture.
Great 👍
Its true that tradition bans widows from talking, Mrs Kumah spoke out of psychological feelings
Capt Smart and the other journalists were making a mockery of the death of the former deputy minister, so she must be pardoned.
What Abrewa Pomaah is saying is 100% right, thats our tradition.
She should be pardoned....why did she informed the mans family or find a spoke person frimbthe mans family
Wow 😮. Then lately we’ve abolished many things ooo. Cuz Ei , it’s not easy 😢
You see when women get money they respect their money more than human beings. You can see that she doesn't respect the family of his late husband and you guys call her bishop or apostle, all Ghanaians know is to call any thief with big titels
Hmm Mrs kumah should be lectured well on this
These are true saying, then. Unfortunately, due to modernization and globalization, which has brought tremendous changes in our contemporary society, these things have been eroded and given way to more modified approaches to customary and cultural practices. These changes brought in its wake defiance among modern societies.
I believe that the positive aspects of these cultural and traditional practices should be upheld, whilst the extremely negative ones (like suppressing the rights and freedoms of the bereaved wives who are mostly the victims) should be struck out.
Live from Spain Sevilla
Nana hemaa wo nnye ky3 paaa❤❤❤❤
That's what I was saying ! She's WRONG TO COME OUT AND ANSWER CAPTAIN SMART AND PROPHET!!
Grandma you're right but sometimes it hurts. Don't let's blame this woman too much. When you have heartless journalists and false prophets these things are bound to happen.
very interesting and educative... but the presenter seems to have simply gone to the old woman to get the widow judged... I wish he had focused on educating us on widowhood than putting John Kuma's wife up for judgement there
Culture is very important nowadays we have forsaken our culture and trying to copy the white.
But our culture is very rich.
This the nonsense part the woman did. I mean Lilian kuma. What right dose she has to go to radio station. Is she a family member to John kumah? No if I belong to John kuma,s the woman can never come to the family ground. She is sooo uncultured.
That Lilian knows nothing. She is a shame to herself. I remember when my own biological mother died, my grandmother and uncles told me that she was theirs and we the kids have no right to decide what to do. I understand what all this old woman is saying. Lilian Kumah needs to be cultured well
Thanks mummy may God gives you long life @@michaelyeboah4603
She didn't behave well at all
Hmmmm have been there before,😭😭😭😭 I sad to hear her talking.....
Piaoooò
YES SIR,NANA GRAND MAA SPEAK'S,ACT&ADVISE LIKE MY GREAT,LOVING& RESPECTFUL GRAND MAA NANA ÀDWOA DWEMOH,MAY HER GREAT SOUL REST IN PERFECT PERFECT.
GRAND MAA ,RESPECT&GOD BLESS YOU WITH LONGER LIFE,PEACE&HEALTH.MODERN DAY YOUNG WOMAN ARE GREEDY&DIS-RESPECTFUL OF MARRIAGE CULTURE IN OUR AKAN WORLD.OUR CONSERVATISM NEVER ALLOW WOMAN TO LEAD, REMEMBER POLITICS&WHITE CHRISTIANITY IS RUINING OUR CULTURE.NANANOM&ABUSUAPANYIN SHOULD LOOK INSIDE & DESTROY THIS "STUPIDITY"!
Ghanaians must learn from you
She is from Adanse,,, typical Asante, she should know this all but she thinks she is a pastor,so she doesn't like ashante traditions
Krobos have similar culture
Yeah, family of the deceased is being informed about condition of the person. The family then that pronounces his death if it's so.
Similarly, no one can give any report about the death other than the family members. Same applies to burial.
She is doing NPP bidding
This tells me that Ashanti come from Israel
All this is the preparation, for the men's family to seize all the properties and by the time all this chokachoka ends, the widow will wept the a baby, thank God everything is change, because of church wedding, what the old lady is saying should have been a good tradition but now if any widow try this method, hmmmmm, you are dead forever, in this Lillian case dea, the woman is stupid and can't never mourn the husband because she wish to replace his husband as an mp. Infact if anyone try this, pretending, not to know your husband who dead in your arms to keep mute eiiiiiiih.
The misket has already been done by the wife
You are all blaming the widow, why not blame the journalists also she should also have spoken about useless people disgracing the dead that it is not permitted
She should have ignored and wait my dear
Do you reason at all? Between the family and the widow, who is supposed to be responding to immediate rumours about the man's death?
Please dont involved Ga's.
The family who know all about tradition should have confronted those dirty mouth people and i am sure the widow be happy and would not speak
Sometimes I don't know what you guys are talking about, John Kuma himself told people that he was poisoned so what is the problem you have with those journalists that are saying?
What about if the husband died?
Is she an Akan?or from where? The mother should have say something to her 😮 l ve saw the mother she looks Ga-Dagbe they does know Ashanti amane3
She is from Obuasi in the Asante Region

Ei! Akosua, where did you go to school. Really? Did you have an English Master?
@@user-ol9bt6qo9dPlease pardon her wai! Anaa wosii minti brofo😂😂😂😂
Evelyn, hmmm I just think our sister Akosua should check her grammar a little bit 😢
I love my lovely mama but I need your number
Pls call the number on the video
The wife ve made a great mistake she needs advice
The wife may have breached cultural practices, but if the whole country is peddling false information about the cause of death of her husband, including the man's family, then it is incumbent on her to defend the truth. Ghanaians should stop unnecessary rumour mongering and unsubstantiated information packaged as the gospel truth.
She doesn’t know much more than the family
Even if Ghanaians are peddling falsehoods, is she the right person to speak. Please your nonsense
Wow 😮. Then lately we’ve abolished many things ooo. Cuz Ei , it’s not easy 😢
