    That’s very true. I have been through that. Even if people visit you, you have no right to explain what happened, someone is to speak on your behalf. You can’t shake hands with anyone one. Someone is selected to be with you always as companion.

    Very educative. The old lady has done justice to the subject: God bless her. It shows the depth of the world view and thoughts of our ancestors and the extent they value family matters. Let us uphold our family values, because they are very comprehensive and promote social harmony.

    What she's saying is true. My daughter was living with her husband, she took her to KATC when his sickness got serious after months of suffering. When he passed, I had to arrange for her to immediately come and stay in my house right from the hospital before the family came to us to inform her and our family of his death even though she was the one with his at the ICU for days. Questionable but that's our culture.

    • @derricksouzey4239
      @derricksouzey4239 5 месяцев назад

      so what is the point ?
      let us take a sound stand, what is the point of having to wait to be told when you know the person died in you presence . i do believe culture is a part of life but sometimes some things re quite redundant . this is how people breed speculations and that is how families are given upper hands in the days past . you may know the truth of our husband's demise but what the family wants to be known is what will be perpetuated, it has hurt families in times past. i am Akan, i like some of the culture but if you understand how some of these cultures affected people you will understand sometimes growing up from "culture " is how we break from some of these things . she didnt try with all she did , god bless the old lady and keep her, i do believe some of these have to be laid to rest

      @@derricksouzey4239 Our culture was paired with the extended family system, which made our culture expansive. In recent times, we're used to the nuclear family system, which has erased the matrilineal system of inheritance and made most of these practices redundant

    Capt Smart and the other journalists were making a mockery of the death of the former deputy minister, so she must be pardoned.

    These are true saying, then. Unfortunately, due to modernization and globalization, which has brought tremendous changes in our contemporary society, these things have been eroded and given way to more modified approaches to customary and cultural practices. These changes brought in its wake defiance among modern societies.
    I believe that the positive aspects of these cultural and traditional practices should be upheld, whilst the extremely negative ones (like suppressing the rights and freedoms of the bereaved wives who are mostly the victims) should be struck out.

Infact if anyone try this, pretending, not to know your husband who dead in your arms to keep mute eiiiiiiih.
