Often a times when you speak to native Ghanaians born and raised in Ghana who's migrated to the west about moving to back Ghana, they make is seem there is no hope of succeeding back home. But through my journey of discovery, I've come across several Africans born abroad who's found their way back home and thriving;
In this video I speak to a wonderful Jamaican woman who left UK to Ghana over 20 years ago to build Villa Sankofa; a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere for travelers. You will be inspired...My Name is Mickey....Keep watching!!!

Thank you for the great comment. I believe Ghanaians should show kindness and to protect all our people returning home to reclaim their heritage which was forcibly taken from them. Our government must also create a clear and easy path to citizenship for them . Just look at her contribution to the economy?

Another great interview! This woman planned her future ahead of time, so it was easy for her to execute it when she got to Ghana. From she got to the UK, she was planning her escape.. She saved and managed her money well! Sorry to hear about the lost of her children. Marva, God bless you❤👠!

I can see Jamaicans are finding it easier then others from the diaspora to assimilate into Ghana and build
Yes we are, because Ghana is no different from Jamaica, for me I will not find it difficult to live In Ghana, most of the issues others have like roads, lights cutting out etc, it's no different from Jamaica, expecially Jamaica country side

To succeed in Ghana you will have to be OK with feeling uncomfortable sometimes and it seems Jamaicans are good at that.

@@emmanuelansah3634 I think it’s more than just age … a lot of Caribbean people have succeeded in making it in west Africa…. West Africa isn’t much different for a lot of Caribbean people growing up…It’s nothing new…Jamaicans have a lot of Ghanaian 🇬🇭 and west African ways and mannerisms eg also Nigerian, Benin etc which is reflected in our way of living in Jamaica 🇯🇲 eg the simple life … the climate… etc etc… in the 60s a lot of Jamaicans went to live in Ghana 🇬🇭 my friends father had been living out there until he died for over 50 years almost ….and also most people are fed up of the rat race, the slave labour and the racism for most now matter how hard you work in the west you still can’t reach…people are fed up of the governments who promise much and deliver nothing for the people… people want a peaceful off grid healthy life physically and mentally which you cannot get in the west👀

As a jamaican, what i would like to see is more Africans displaying the same affection to neighboring tribes and countries as they do for us in the diaspora. Until then, its meaning less. You cant honestly love us who are all the way across the world, if you dont love your brother tribe next-door to you.
For where I'm standing, Ghanaians extend love to everyone. We even have settlements for travelers from other countries called Zongo.

Someone left me a piece of land there to be used for the children, but the Generous Queen Mother passed away and i never found out where the land was. RIP beautiful 👑 Mother.❤

This is how Jamaicans make roads when they have some cash flowing even in J.A. They don't wait for the government if they have the funds. ❤
The history of Jamaicans and their struggles, are different from those in Ghana. We in the Caribbean know where we are from as a continent but lack so much detailing which our ancesters couldn't share bevause they were all so separated. ❤❤

It's amazing how the diaspora of formaly enslaved are hungering for a place to call home. I have listened to many, felt their need for acceptance as they tried to connect to their ancestorual home. African tribal leaders in colonial time were also guilty of working with the European to raid villages and sell their brothers and sisters. We are asking the colonizers for reparations but what about those Chiefs who were also guilty. Should they not make amend also? Did Ghana year of return comes with free land or easy citizenship? Some African country offer free visa and granted many cannot offer the amount of money that European country can give, but they have land!. What can a visa do for a family that is seeking a home away from the oppression of racism and violence we see rising in many of the Carribbean abd the west? Most every communities build by runawy or enslaved people have vanished. Many structure of towns that they tried to build was distroyed and deliberatelydivided by infrastructures. Eg Rosewood, Blackwall street, etc. Right now the Maroons in Jamacia are trying hard to keep their land, (diasporians know your history, i dont care what language you speak!). Most diaporians are displaced, disfranchise, downtrodden and dismayed unable to find that solid root where the future generations from our loins will be able to established a thriving and prosperous community where we share a commonality. Even when diasporians made their homes in the land of their ancestors, they still feel disconnected from that cultural root, opening a void that is hard to close. Blessings to Wode Maya and many other ytubers who are trying to connect us to the motherland and across the world. Born in Jamaica without understanding the evil of slavery, there was/is a disconnect felt in our souls We tried to ignore it but it kept knawing at our inside, eating away at us causing a missery in the depths of our hearts. We are not 100% Africans but a turmulous mixture of various ethnicity, the culprit that makes it hard to bride that gap that can bring a wholeness to our souls. The solution? .....May sound farfetched but then consider if it is feasible. Am a writer with a macroscopic view of the world. With that been said. We disporians should form a strong and true organization, combined our efforts, and petition for land in Africa of huge proportion, ( it is the second largest continent and its has the area and more to spare), mainly from where most blacks were taken. This broods of 😅diadporaians should create a 55 country called 'Afridiasporian' for themselves. Look at it as a kind of 'Liberia/ Israel' without the drama. These two countries are resettled by former displaced children; God bless them!🙏Than we need not feel displaced, we will be connected to the motherland and also to each other due to our shared histiry. The past is gone, we will not get it back but we must learn from it and thus create a strong future for our future generations. 😢 Agree? Visionary diaporians give this some thumbs up! A people perished for lack of vision. Habakkuk says write the vision.....! Blessings.
