Thanks for the pointers about the last bit being hard to unscrew when removing. Mine was super hard and I was beginning to second guess myself. This was a big help.
I really wouldn’t - the connection between the steam tap and the boiler is fairly fragile and easy to dent. Hammering the end would put a lot of stress on that connection. Unscrewing the tap should be fairly straight forwards
@@marcomaranini3901 is double check which end is the narrow one. Other than that I have found some are just a bit stuck in. As a last resort o might try a small dot of wd40 to loosen the pin
I have another video on a group head service but have not done one yet on a full clean. Will probably make one next time I restore a LP. Definitely use a little lube on the seals. Always use Molykote 111

No worries. Glad it was useful.
Thank you soooooo much. I had no idea and left it alone..thank God for you tube and generous souls like yourselves
Glad it was helpful
Thank you for this tutorial! Very helpful. Just switched out all my knobs for wooden ones.
Ooh very nice
Spalted Tamarind Wood. Very cool look.
Thank you. That was really helpful.
Thanks this was a video I needed.
Is it possible to gently hammer the pin out with the knob still attached to the machine? Or is it risky? Thanks.

@@theangrymonkey Thank you. I removed the tap very easily but the roll pin won't come out! Any trick you would recommend?

@@theangrymonkey Done! I didn't have any wd40 in the house but the good old extra virgin olive oil did the trick 😉
@@marcomaranini3901 excellent news. Probably better overall to use a natural oil too
is that thick black washer a special part or can it be sourced at a hardware store?
You’re probably best getting one from a specialist. They don’t cost much.
@@theangrymonkey Thank you. And thank you for the video. I was anxious about working on the steam tap.
Would this solve a steam wand that doesn’t turn off the steam?
It could do. If you’ve not done the seals in a while they may be the cause
2:50 I also found this part a bit difficult.
I solved it by combining an m4 screw and a hammer.
Soooo much unnecessary talking. Please focus.
I’ll send your notes to my producer 😂😂😂
Could you share how you cleaned the gook from the whole system, and does it make sense to add some kind of lube? Thank you for the video.
