Across the Spider-Verse is the Next Step of Animation

- Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse takes everything that made Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse great, and ramped it up to a hundred. Miles Morales comes face to face with other Spider-Man variations across the multiverse, along with a massive new threat that challenges our heroes. What does Across the Spider-Verse do better than the first movie? How will it change animation moving forward?

PEAK! 🔥💯🕸️
yea
PEAK ANIMATION.
Yeah
How did Sony go from The Emoji Movie to the front-runner in driving animation forward!?
They really had a glow up under our noses
The funniest part is that that Into the Spiderverse came to theaters only A YEAR AFTER THE EMOJI MOVIE
different directors
Ig this is why Sony made that product placement of a flick!
They evolved
I'm glad to live in a world where this isn't a disappointing sequel
I’d say that cliff hanger was shit.
Usually the third movie will be the bad one.
@@FinnManusia for example Return Of The Jedi
I was seriously scared that it would disappoint, thank god it didn’t.
@@DanteLilyHarris how it rotj bad
The creators literally said it was going to end on a cliffhanger that should get people excited
It only made me angry
We're gonna have to wait for a few more years 💀
Guys stop, I know it's coming in a few months
@@Zdoc9 unless it gets pushed
@@Zeebob89 yeah, but the movie was good tho, and look on the bright side, aren’t you excited for the third movie?

Gwen’s universe looked so amazing I felt like I was looking through an art of book.
“art of book”
So true the beginning it was very gloomy the ending when Gwen hugged her dad it was all bright colors.
Me when art of book:🥶🥶🤑🤑🤑
@@Jeff_WeedEater same lol I also can’t wait for the vinyl
Yeah, it really did look like an artbook.
Animation may not be getting the respect it deserves, but it is getting better and better each movie and TV show.
yea.
It’s evolving but forwards
Sony is getting better and better
If you mean in terms of quality I don’t really agree The Mario movie wasn’t well received by critics and opinions online from non critics were all over the place. Disney and Pixar movies have been hit or miss recently as well and DreamWorks only recently started making movies that people actually seem like after years of mediocrity with those films being Bad Guys and Puss & Boots 2 and Sony of course has Spider Verse.
@@PeterGriffin11 I mean in terms of quality, yes.
Spiderverse: “wanna see me change how we perceive animation for the better?
Wanna see me do it again?”
Wanna see them do it again again?
@@The1ArtKing i don’t know how they would but *yes*

@@meowmeow9617 SpongeBob SquarePants: I think it’s in seasons 1-3 based on animation (I’m not sure tho) and it’s the episode where they become super heroes
It’s movies like these that constantly remind me of why animation should be seen as a medium and more than just a genre or kids films
yea
I honestly wouldn't even consider this a kids movie.
Most people in my local theatre were 16+. A good chunk were much older than that.
The few kids that were there were completely zoned out half way through the movie.
The movie didn't have all that much action, but a lot of good story and amazing visuals. Not something many younger kids will appreciate.
Fr literally all the kids in my school just think it would be a baby movie/show if its animated
this wasn’t really a kids movie. i didn’t see anyone below like 11 in my theater and it’s pretty adult
While I was watching the movie, and the greatness and seriousness of the story unfolded, and every scene, panel and style that came through, I could really tell that all of it really came down from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's passion and energy, and this being their way of saying a complete "F U" to the Oscars back in that speech of 2022, to shut naysayers mouths. And I believe they did
My cinema was SO pissed about the cliffhanger. I heard someone literally saying “Are you f*cking kidding me!” 😂
LMFAO!
I’m surprised, I thought it’s been well known for the last few years that the second and third film would be a two parter and that they were made around the same time.
And it’s only a year away (March 2024) like countless other two parter films
Did they even stick around for the credits? It specifically said Miles will return in “Beyond the Spiderverse”
😂 Nobody likes cliffhangers. Damn.
@@DylanSnider true, but patience is needed 😭😂
The first part is 2 and a half hours is that not enough of a good film
My theater was very annoyed once they saw "to be continued" on the big screen. I knew it was coming and was constantly confused that the movie kept going. There were multiple points where I thought they'd pull out the cliffhanger, and when they eventually did, I just sat there laughing.
Yeah me too
Yup..
I started hearing the music and I was like "no no no no no no no"
Everyone clapped
Same here. I knew it had to probably end in a cliffhanger because of the "Part One" shown in the teaser, yet I still didn't want it to end. A few people in my theater boo'd when to be continued showed up, but you could tell it was more from a "we want more" perspective than actually being upset at the movie.
This is probably going to a golden year of animation
Why just cause of one movie?
@@tanjamaier1776 don’t forget the Mario movie
@@shadoward1051 nah it's just a kids movie
@@tanjamaier1776 so is Across the Spider-Verse
Also both of these films are for everyone
That movie was GOATED. Music, Animations, plot, easter eggs. 10/10
Okay, I saw this yesterday, and I absolutely LOVED IT. I can’t even describe what was going on inside my brain, it just felt like an out of body experience to see the seamless mixing of so many cool art styles. This was just SO creative and I’ll be thinking about this movie’s look and story for a long time.
Words can't describe the feeling you get from watching this film. It's spiritual.
Seeing this in theaters was amazing. The theater was packed and nobody was being annoying over the top, plus a lot of laughs. Seeing the animation in the big screen was something I won't ever forget.
Just saw the movie and it was insane. The movie went absolutely bonkers and it felt like the artists had FULL creative freedom. Absolutely bonkers movie and went insane and the end credits scene just being a title screen saying. YO WERE ALREADY MAKING A NEW ONE. And I think they intentionally left it on a cliff hanger saying “trust me bro it’ll be better than the second one”
Agreed
Countless two parter films end the second one on a cliffhanger and they’re released within a year of each other.
This movie is absolutely amazing. After years of hoping, it's so good to see animation finally start to get the respect it deserves. I didn't think the first could be topped, but here we are. I wonder how the third will possibly keep that momentum going.
You can say that again.
I literally just walked out of the theater and I HAVE NO WORDS!!
Same!
I have one word to describe it: AMAZING 😉
Animation may get mocked by many, but this? This is why we stay loyal to it!
Animation gets mocked?
@@jkdjjj oh you should see how much it gets looked down on by big business.
I love the hybrid style !
Especially when Dreamworks used it in Bad Guys and Puss in Boots 2
While I was watching the movie, and the greatness and seriousness of the story unfolded, and every scene, panel and style that came through, I could really tell that all of it really came down from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's passion and energy, and this being their way of saying a complete "F U" to the Oscars back in that speech of 2022, to shut naysayers mouths. @@Merdicano True
Even Del Toro himself said something similar at this year’s Oscars (hell his Pinocchio even had the honor of getting the first award)
Lots of people wanted that 4 hour movie
The characters are likeable, the art is expressed with pure emotions and the twist at the end is UNEXPECTED. Can’t wait for Beyond The Spider-Verse and the fact that 2 movies were made in 4 years AND releasing 1 year apart is INSANE!!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FILM TO ANY SPIDER-MAN FAN
They should get an Oscars for this movie, It’s Amazing!
ALL THE EMMYS!!!
Emmys are for television, Oscars are for movies 😊
@@micahk7138 Oh, thanks for telling me :)
I think this movie should win best animated feature film, best adapted screenplay, best original song and some more imo.
Yep disney is dying!
The movie was so good everyone was laughing, surprised, and some references that caught them off gaurd. When it was at the end everyone was disappointed that ot was a cliffhanger
Me too but it's okay cause I hope in next film still great as the sequel
I don’t get why because it’s been confirmed for a while that both films are two parters so I would think it wouldn’t be too unexpected that this would end in a cliffhanger
The next one “Beyond the Spiderverse” releases next March .
Didn’t the crowd stick around during the credits? It confirms it
Imma say this right now, I really love the Spider Verse animation style, but I kinda hope studios don’t overuse it or it will lose its charm of why it made it so good in the first place
use it, but use it if your script is gonna be fast and has amazing writing! (The Bad Guys was fast paced, PiB: TLW and Spider Man ITSV/ATSV had amazing story + fast animation)
Its not really overused tho. It's not like movies plagiarize the spider verse movies entirely visual wise. Movies like PIB 2 still look very distinct
Yeah, but it seems like animated movies are getting inspired by spider-verse rather than copying it. The bad guys, Puss in Boots 2, and the new TMNT movie have unique art styles that all look great while having clear inspiration from spider-verse but still feel distinct enough to be considered different. Which I think is great for the future of animation.
True
@@RedLaundryBasket Don't forget about Mitchells.
I really love animation! It’s truly beautiful and talented! Everyone who works hard on it definitely deserves respect! And they definitely deserve it! I’m definitely so hyped for this movie now! I definitely enjoyed the first one! It was incredible! So I’m definitely hyped for the sequel! Seeing other movies being inspired by it definitely makes me so happy as well to see it! Animation may not be getting the respect it rightfully deserves and I definitely agree with you all by that and it sucks that it’s happening rn. But animation will always be by our hearts forever and it will always show that anything can happen! I’m definitely hyped for the future of animation and everything too! 💖
So much positivity in this comment, it's so great! I truly hope everything in your life goes right and you continue to be this way.
The biggest chase from the Spider Society might be as funny and epic as it sounds.
I love the movie!
If there's a Part 2 coming out, I'll be happy to view it with my brother after we watched Part 1.
Right?
It’s been confirmed that this and third film “Beyond the Spider Verse” are a two parter.
Beyond will release in March of next year
I'm so excited for Beyond the Spider-Verse!!!!
Blue Sky's The Peanuts Movie may be the first to use the stylized animation approach, but it was Spider-verse that really popularized it. It seems like Sony Animation is becoming the next revolutionary animation studio after Pixar. I may see this movie on Sunday with my brother, so I think we might have a good time then.
Absolutely. And I think this is a great cinematic comeback for SPA considering that Mitchells vs The Machines, Wish Dragon, Vivo and Hotel Transylvania 4 were released on streaming; but a well deserved and triumphant comeback 🔥.
I cannot wait for what the other projects, such as Fixed, Black Knight, Tut, and K-Pop: Demon Hunters will bring down the line. And with the expansion of Sony Pictures Imageworks to Montreal, we'll be getting highly interesting movies from Sony Pictures Animation down the road
I just watched the movie today, and the different types of art styles co-existing animation inside of a singular film is absolutely amazing
That’s the ultimate true meaning of ULTIMATE POWER.
The first thing I immediately thought when I came out of the theater was "I NEED to go see that again". I was on overstimulated high after the movie ended, and for all the best reasons. I can't wait to rewatch this asap
It’s gonna be eye-candy, _that’s_ for sure… and I’m HYPED 🤩

This is probably, no defenetly the most beatifull, expressive and smoth animation i have ever seen
The animation in this movie was so beautiful it almost brought me to tears. Combined with the story, the twist at the end and the cliffhanger, this was the best movie I’ve seen in years. I legit can’t think about anything else right now.
The thing about the cliffhanger is that it was so unexpected like i knew a cliffhanger was gonna come but i was so emersed by how realistic the movie was that i completley forgot about it. Thats how you know a movie was amazing
$17M just from Thursday previews alone 😳
Yep-
Woah
The Theater I was at watching this Amazing Movie were so Angry when it Ended with a Cliffhanger, that should get them Excited.
Were they unaware of the third film coming out next year? Even the credits themselves midway through said Miles will return in “Beyond the Spiderverse”
This movie rlly pushed the limits of animation, blending 2D and 3D AND LIVE ACTION!!!! Each shot was truly a work of art
How did this franchise change animation TWICE in 5 years wtf
Bro here a fun fact: Miles Morals always got the CLEANEST SHOES ON IN EACH UNIVERSE
That's because Miles has his own personal shoe shiner between sets.
imagine all 3 of the spiderverse movies win the oscar for best animated movie. that would just be insane.
Now my excitement is increased tenfold. Sunday can't come sooner for me!!!!
How they gonna leave it on a cliffhanger 😩
Out of the top 5 fave movies of the year so far, spider man makes it at first with another
I love how you said “so many other projects are inspired by this style” then only showed clips from the new Mutant Mayhem trailer
This is probably the greatest marvel movie since endgame and most movies dont end in cliffhangers especially animated movies
Agreed
Granted the two part finales of Harry Potter, Twilight, and Hunger Games ended their first parter in cliffhangers.
The second Pirates film also did.
Granted all of these films’ second part only released a year later
I gotta feeling this is gonna be an amazing movie!
It will the best movie if they added spooderman
yup
He was too busy being a stud and eating big meks.
Maybe Miguel asked him to join, but Spoderman says no because he has sweg.
Or because Miguel doesn’t want to go near him because of his design.
We’re still have one more movie to go. Who knows? Maybe he will appear in Beyond the Spider-Verse. I hope he does.
Maybe other Animation Studios will start to change thier animation style to match that of Spider-Verse style similar how DreamWorks Animation went with The Bad Guys, Puss In Boots The Last Wish and Trolls Band Togheter (This film contains 2d animaited sequences inspired by Fantasia and Yellow Submarine so it is technically a 3D mixed with 2D). Sony really did awesome job with this and I hope seeing the sequel more beyond my loves
I hope to see animation for other dreamworks movies as well.

It looks like a Beautiful Experience, with a Absurdly Chaotic Narrative. But I can't hate The Animation EVER!
Yesterday, I watched this movie. The AMC Theater I went to see the movie had quiet audio and you could barely hear the movie. Even someone just eating popcorn was too loud. Thankfully, the audience was quiet, but you could still hear movies from the other rooms. Even though I could barely hear the voices and music, I still believe that this is the best movie I have ever seen. I was so excited after Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse got its sequel. Sequels are usually worse than the original in many cases, but this movie definitely changed that. This movie for me was a literal 10/10!
Spiderverse is a franchise that utilizes ALL forms of animation. Hoping Across the Spiderverse scores at LEAST $500 million in the box office, I didn't go see the first cuz I was iffy about Sony after The Emoji Movie, but now I regret that decision. Glad I'm seeing the eye candy sequel in the cinema tomorrow!
Me and my little bro absolutely enjoyed Across The Spider-verse. I highly enjoy the characters, comedy, animation, and heart. I’m super excited for Beyond The Spider-verse to come out!
The next movie comes out next year in march if anyone is wondering
Can't wait to see it. Bet it's most certainly going to be fetch and hip.

This movie… looks incredible!
Spider-Man: across the Spider-Verse animation was amazing such a great movie
The first movie raised the bar for animation. The first sequel, just permanently changed animation cinema FOREVER!!
THIS MADE MY DAY AND I LOOK FORWARD TO MULTIPLE THINGS IN ANIMATION LIKE THIS (or animation in general)
Watched it today, it's a worthy sequel!
My theatre’s reaction to the cliffhanger was gold
Literally everyone starting shouting and complaining (including me)
Whole theatre was pissed when it ended on a cliffhanger 😂 one guy repeated that wasn’t even a 2 hour movie until he looked at his phone, they hit a home run with this movie
@@Zdoc9 Most didn’t know the third film is coming out next March?
I thought it’s been known for a couple years that both the second and third were in production at the same time?
I hope in the future animation will keep growing stronger.😌
The amount of work and advertisements this movie has is just unbelievable
I got the Spider-Man whopper ad before this started broo 😭💀
It's time animation and animated TV shows along with films make a comeback!! New ideas are on the horizon, and we must accept them
The film, for me, has tied with Sleeping Beauty as The Greatest Animated Film Ever Created.
The art style is DOPE. It gets better and better every time.

Keep in mind that the first movie used to be my favorite movie before the Mario animated movie took its place.
Across the Spider-Verse was one the most amazing, spectacular (Pun intended) experiences i’ve ever had in cinema. This was Spider-Man’s version of The Empire Strikes Back. This might be my favorite movie of 2023 for now. I rarely give 10/10, 5 stars for a movie, but i feel this one deserves it. Can’t wait for Beyond the Spider-Verse.
In conclusion, Across the Spider-Verse is cinema.
I'm not even mad that I have to wait for part 2.
Im counting the SECONDS until March 24 2024 when Beyond the Spider-verse will come out
As soon as the credits started rolling, the theater I was in erupted with groans and "what the f*ck"s
I'm excited for seeing spider-man across the spider-verse part 1 and this is great animation!
When it comes to the best animation movies, you usually think of Dreamworks or Disney. But this time, its sony's turn.
I watched this movie today in 4d and MY GOD THIS WAS HEAT 🔥🔥
Cannot wait to see that
Also I love how the put swears in here I was laughing my ass off
Ok so this movie year, the Mario movie ( the 1# movie so far ) across the spider verse, and a fnaf movie coming, man we need more popcorn
just watched the movie yesterday and spent most of the movie's runtime crying lmao
That ending. _Dios mio._
I saw it today, genuinely the best movie I’ve ever seen. Nice to see Miles as a more professional Spider-Man, rather than someone just learning how to become a Spider-Man!
My mind is blown, so much epicness going on at once, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT
As someone who just got out of the theater, this is the first movie that made me actively interact. I was laughing and gasping with the entire audience and the ending just has me wanting so so much more.
Will it be S.P.A’s first film to cross a billion to join Illumination?
I sense that it definitely will. Heck even a co-worker I know who likes live action Marvel films said he was siked to see this animated film.
I saw this movie earlier today. I LOVED IT!

@@mayracordero382 Uh hiu
As Luigi said “That is Cinema”.
I loved the lego scene and how the earth number is the same as the lego marvel games which is a nice touch
I really wasn’t sure if it could top the first movie in terms of animation, but it somehow manages to do even more. Frankly, it makes Into The Spiderverse look simplistic. It may just be the most beautiful and creative work of animation ever made.
In my opininon ut needed more old characters like penie only appaered for 1 second and thats it..
but the references... The game reference the venom reference EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD!! But the ¿¿you?? reference was the best
Finally, you made another Spiderverse related video!
As huge fans of animation, we can't forget to appreciate the beautiful movie that changed animation forever (Spider-Man into the spider-verse)! At the time, into the spider-verse was called the best animated movie and best superhero movie of all time, and now so many animated movies nowadays are using this advanced and beautiful animation created by the spider-verse team! And now the SEQUEL is being called the best animated movie and best superhero movie of all time! Say what you want about movies like the Mario movie, but that'll NEVER be better than the spider-verse movies!
I'M WATCHING ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE TOMORROW, AND I'M SO EXCITED!😃🕷🕸
