    Looks like a sweet little spinning set up.. and next time I need to know if something is plastic or metal.. I will now tap my wedding ring on it… LOL..

      It's amazing what my wedding ring can do, lol. It's also an excellent bottle opener!

    How’s the fishing upper kern?

    • @RoadandReel
      @RoadandReel  2 года назад

      It's getting a lot better. The higher you go, the better it gets. It's all natives and some holdovers, so the areas in between campgrounds are the best. It's starting to cool down and the water is clearing a little, but you still have to work a large area if you want to be successful.

      They sent me a prototype, so the release may have been different.

      Well, the previous model is at Walmart. It has a nut that screws in to hold the reel. This one will probably be out in a few months.

      @@williemickbillie oh man! Did you get to see it before it left? The Kern has a way of doing that. I don't think any other river does it quite like the Kern. I've lost some really nice ones up there!

      @@RoadandReel no :/ i was on my 10' 3 wt with shorty euro line and he would take big runs to the backing and id get back my line but after the 3rd big run I couldn't turn him or raise him and he snapped my 4lbs fluro by the dropper knot, I shoulda kept walking him down. Felt like a butt hooked sucker but it was in the fast water and was head shaking strong

      @@williemickbillie well, at least you got to fight it for a little while. There's nothing like a good run on a smaller rod. I bet it was still a lot of fun and it's good to know that fish is in the same spot, so it gives you something to hope for the next time!

      Unfortunately, you're right. Everything is owned by some larger company trying to maximize profits.

    had a Abu G max. What a POS it was. Rod seemed okay but the reel was GARBAGE at best!

      Yeah, they've produced some real doozies. The reel on this one isn't bad, but my Pfluegers or even Penns are so much better.

    Prototype that goes for $60 at Walmart.

      I haven't seen this one with the quick release reel. They resigned it I think because of the poor performance of the last model. I like this one a lot better, but I won't know for sure until I land some larger fish.
