    I have never seen a pianist so intense. It is as if he becomes one with the piano. He is so absorbed with the music. There is no one on the planet like him.

    Really impressive !!!!
    One of the best performances I've ever heard of this piece !
    Everything so clear, perfect dynamics and so energetic! Amazing ...

    He played this when he was about twelve (it's on youtube) with an intensity that uniquely anticipates this. It was raw as hell -- too raw, maybe; a little more "clarity" needed to find its way in. Now he's found it's way in here, and blasted it right back into raw -- raw what? sinew? precision? emotion? incandescence? Incredible.

    Whoof! It's a little uncanny, that chess-genius-looking grin. The organ pipes behind him like so many teeth hanging down add to the unhinged impression. Marvellous, and so strong!

    I’m no musician, but I did not hear a single mistake in either rhythm or notes. Legendary work and a performance equal to it.

    The late (as of last month) Byron Janis gave a remarkable performance of this on live TV. (ruclips.net/video/lynGabPCAwY/видео.html). No one then or now can match Janis's focus. Also, Yakov Zak has an excellent performance of this piece on YT. However neither of these predecessors were as stylish as Alexander Malofeev (whom I applaud for speaking out against the war in Ukraine.)

      I prefer Malofeev on the to Yuja . Listen to how Malofeev modulates near the beginning. He has more colors in his pianism

    • @Ludwingvanchopin
      @Ludwingvanchopin 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@yannicksoprano6590 He plays it so much better than Yuja Wang, she's a good pianist but many times like in Kapustin's Toccatina she often puts show off above musicality. Also I'm sure that in a few years Malofeev will reach a more mature level
