I really like that you went back an reevaluated your ratings. Its fun to see what grew on you and what got tired after the initial shine wore off. It's kinda like a long term road test car review. Great info for the home buyer who wants to know what may stand the test of time and get bolted to the floor
Commenting as I watch - wall of text coming: "You're speaking more prolific than me" should be "You're speaking more articulately than I." Also, I appreciate your re-review since code can change so dramatically over time. That Star Wars art package makes we wonder if its my next pin. Beautiful! I own WoZ - its FANTASTIC. Like any game with a decent rule set, it takes time to get it down. The light show and the toys make it for me, but my opinion will always be biased on this one. Zach loves tasting him some George Gomez. Careful - Greg's mom will get jealous! LOTR pin - If I see the right price, its MINE! "Munsters - its a good game I would buy it again" - Greg Bone "Munsters - its ass" - also Greg Bone. Baywatch is automatic A+. Its the ONLY pin with a shark flipper. Its at least twice as good as Hard Body. Your point on themes indicates a preference for developed intellectual properties (IPs) over taking chances on something new / original. I don't prefer one over another necessarily, but IPs tend to have a higher potential to disappoint me. Stern's JP has that great T-Rex, but missed terribly on many other assets like classic lines from the original actors. Who wouldn't want more Dr. Ian Malcolm 'Chaos theory' callouts or "That's a big pile of ..." - There's a lot of missed opportunities there. Nice show guys!
Well.... thanks for talking Johnny down so much bc i was able to scoop it for dirt cheap. I'll make sure to use ur words of "unable to creat nostalgia" with today's games when and if i decide to sell it.
Its been too long since ive heard "Lets kick this shit" thanks Zach and Greg! Miss seeing you guys! Zach say "Weighted Grading System" 5 times real fast! Lol...Just realized it sounds like you guys were getting into the hobby about the same time as me!
Love the videos you guys do. Think the Aerosmith Pro is a fun, value pin that should be rated higher than a B. The satisfying shots and the 6 multiball make other higher ranked multiball pins look silly. Also would be interesting to see value ranked pins - hard to compare a $6k to a $12 k pin. Love what you guys do, always entertaining.
Great video! I have a Stranger Things pro and I love it. How the heck did Chuck make that adjustment to the saucer to make it go all the way through the loop?
No, guys, we WANT original themes, we just want them to be GOOD themes. They have a place. When DI came out, I knew it sucked immediately due to the theme and it would go down the poop shoot eventually. All the new licensed titles are bad, in my eyes. They are bare bones. And when you get to JJP stuff that's loaded, if they are licensed, they don't hold up. If you can't have originally themes anymore, as one of you said, then pinball is done. Good original themes are where it's at, especially for new comers. It was for me when I got into pinball.
I just got into pinball about a year and half ago. Hated pinball as a kid but now I "GET IT". I love the original themes rather then crummy movie IPs and flavor of the month media themes. JMO
Come on Greg, The Hobbit not in your top ten? I have the Gold Smaug special edition and absolutely love it. Beautiful artwork, great theme, awesome sound with unbeatable replay ability. Very deep game. So much fun. I Must find a JJP Pirates next. Indiana Jones, Shadow, LOR, and Iron Maiden all great pins. I must agree with Zach on the Baywatch review. Any truth to the rumor of JJP doing Guns n Roses on their next theme? Or another production release for Pirates?
To add to the "why original themes don't sell": Yes, people like old games because of nostalgia. But then I also think that nowadays people like to spend money on things they already are familiar with, especially when the price for a new machine goes up every other year. Even when going to a location to play, I assume people think "oh that's Metallica, I know that band, I know what to expect here" and then "This game says Dialed In! - I don't even know what that is". And then play Metallica, or Star Wars. These unlicensed themes would need so much time to explain themselves and prove that they are good themes and I doubt players nowadays are willing to put in that time that would be needed.
I agree. If I walk into an arcade and see Metallica or Funhouse not knowing anything I’d go to what I know. These new Sterns break the mold vs the old ones though. The Bally/Williams original themes beat the hell out of all the Data East themes as far as I’m concerned but I love the new themed Sterns.
I would like to see build quality be included in future reviews. Surely this is a significant element. I would find it hard to find any other review that does not include quality of the product. Just saying.
Straight Down The Middle: a pinball show You could start by what you get for your money. How many mechs. The quality of the sculptures. The play field quality. The hardware driving the software. Look it as reviewing a car. Quality does matter. If it isn’t rated it will disappear. I am sure most people want to know this. Someone will start to rate quality if it’s not you guys. Be first, be best.
Nice. My first pin was a Metallica and I actually traded it for a Deadpool after awhile and I don't regret it at all. Im a Gomez fan. I have a Transformers LE also. Godzilla is the reason I have pinball machines now, my uncle had one in his house and I remember just sitting there and playing it the whole family reunion haha. I also have a Munsters Prem and I can not wait to get rid of it. I keep waiting for that update but I don't think it can be saved. I really don't like it
Pinball is 45% visual 45% audio and 10% the kinetic feel. How can you rate sound package at 5% only?? I mean take DI for example, great shooter, amazing layout but that music in the background kills every joy of the pin. Shoot the basket!! In Shaq attack gets so annoying, you want to throw out the pinball machine. T2 cool theme and fast shooter, but the sound package makes that pin an awesome experience. Sound package in Deadpool makes the game amazing. TWD was a turd until the sound package got updated, yea also coding but still, you know what i mean😁 You have to give audio more then 5% Best regards -Retrocengo
So many of the rock band games are no fun if you are sick of hearing those butt rock songs by now. Maybe they should try a newer band? Or a different genre music? Damn, the fan base they are shooting for is pretty specific. Too bad.... haha
Original themes rule!!!! I love IP themes also, but if you can make a good original theme game you are a god. So many of the IP themed games are bad too. There's more to a good game then nostalgia. I don't need my own nostalgia to make a game good. Maybe that's just a small niche of us. Sigh....
Thanks for changing your Batman '66 score Zach! It's easily my most overrated modern Stern pin of all time. I do not get the appeal. Too many Lyman fan boys, I guess? Total clunker in my book.
Yes, more Zach and Greg talking pinball! I haven't even watched yet and I all ready feel a solitary tear welling up! Thanks guys!
Love my Deadpool and it was my first Pin - Never going to give it up.
Deadpool is my first pin. Definitely love it.

I have no Pinball club again for the 7 or 8th week this show makes me happy thanks.
Kirt Fox it’ll be back soon enough, until then you’re stuck with us ;)

Good to have you back with another vid
You guys are great! I really enjoy your content. A sincere thank you for your time and effort. Really guys...... thank you!
Hello love this reviews. Are you going to do an updated one for 2022?
Well.... thanks for talking Johnny down so much bc i was able to scoop it for dirt cheap. I'll make sure to use ur words of "unable to creat nostalgia" with today's games when and if i decide to sell it.

C K it’s a recycled Kiss layout and just kind of generic overall. B is more than fair for it.
Jesus 6k is a value now. Lol times sure have changed
Happy to see you guys are back! Awesome video!
Waiting for the Covid-19 Pinball Machine!!! You could get super creative!!

Doug Tolley we have discussed that but we worry about them not differing to much and also how to rate something like that

Zach is WAY off on Baywatch. Such an awesome theme/game! Haha cheers guys, great vid, enjoyed it
Jersey Jack, imo. Wonka rules! Pirates? Please
You need to fix gb to williams angle. Once we did it, gb was enjoyable.
What would you rate Theater of magic?
Would you violate quarantine for Greg's Mom? Be safe. Mylar up.
Scotty Pinball hahaha. I couldn’t violate Greg’s mom that’s for sure....she’s a giver
Why do a new review of Walking Dead with Clelands code, and not JP with custom code?
Sorry guys, but you are way off on GOTG...It's an A all day for me...Love this pin!!!!
top 10 most over rated pins would be a fun video!!!
