- Hello all
So. The idea I had for this video was to just do a soundscape for as long as I could so that you could have it on in the background while you work or what ever, or just simply lay down and get lost in.
I hope that makes sense.
This pedal is utterly beautiful in its sounds and I hope you enjoy this. : )

40 years ago we had drugs and listened to Tangerine Dream ... NOW we have Dave and a pedal with a couple of pots ... nice!
LOL Exactly. Hell, I gave up drugs several years ago and focused on weird Noise and spaced-out Ambient instead. Might as well spend money on more sensible things like gear.

Hey Dave - if you haven't already done it, update your HX Effects to version 3: it's chocca full of new poly effects goodies which are right up your ambient street...( poly sustain, poly detune, poly capo, poly wham, poly pitch, glitch delay, shuffling looper etc).

Maybe I lack soul or something... but that's a pedal I definitely won't be getting... in fact, I think that this is the first ever one of Dave's videos that's left me thinking "meh" & 40 minutes of my life that I won't get back.
Sorry Dave... you've always been utterly honest with your comments (whether about pedals, amps, guitars, other random bits of kit or, even more importantly regarding some of the mental challenges that you've had) & they help us all... especially whether we agree with them or not... & so I wanted to be the same for you.. so, this one... nah, wasn't for me

@@LauraSquirrel Absolutely, but I'm sure that Dave would prefer honest comments - as long as expressed fairly & with care (rather than a simple "I hate this" or similar that FB is littered with). As I said, it's the first of Dave's that I've not enjoyed & given that his videos on the Vintage V100 PGM were the final "clincher" in me getting one, I've got a lot of time (& money) sort of invested in Dave...
But, equally, I can imagine that when I'm in ecstasy over some of Dave's Blues stuff, others will perhaps be going "oh, not again!" but that's what's great about all of this we can agree to disagree politely.
I've just realised something else... there was no usual intro to "The People of The Tube"! 😂
@@fozman1959 That is a completely fair point. Like, for instance, I would never use one of these on my Blues or Metal boards. I prefer both boards to be far more stripped down. I have "The Spaceship" for when I want to get way out there. My Blues board has a pair of overdrives (Bogner Blue Ecstacy & EQD Westood) and a clean boost (EQD Arrows). That's all. But, I'm thinking of getting an EQD Tone Job EQ pedal to beef things up when I split the coils on my humbuckers. (G&L ASAT Tribute Deluxe)
@@LauraSquirrel I've a simple board... sort of... it's a Boss Me-70 - so loads of stuff available... not always used... or even used well 🤣 & still trying to find some tones that I'm happy with day in & day out... doesn't help, I suspect, that I rarely play through an amp at the moment, just into the Me-70, out into a Behringer mixer (to play along to backing tracks from laptop) & then out to headphones. So I tend to use the amp simulators on the Me-70 & then a mix of either OD1 or Blues Driver with analogue delay & reverb... sometimes with harmoniser or Chorus in the mix to fatten things up a little...
Once I get a tone that I'm *really* happy with, I'll save it to the patches... trouble is I'll need a few as, in addition to the Vintage V100 PGM, I've a MiJ Fender Strat & an Aria YS500 (from the 1980's - a 21st birthday prezzie!) so I need a couple or three "ideal" tones for each... and, of course, the Aria has both coil taps and a tone selector switch that "complicates" things 😂
One thing that I've learned from Dave is to turn amp (or in my case amp sim) up & then control things more with tone & volume pots on guitar... I used to be more of the Tap school of playing... everything up to 11... but now getting much nicer tones thanks to Dave's tips
@@fozman1959 Nice! One thing that I should point out: The Metal and Blues boards are of the "Always on" variety. All of the pedals work together to season the tone. Once they are on, that's it. Any fine-tuning after that comes from switching pick ups, coil-splitting, etc.

Got one of these a few months ago and I’m still finding new sounds in it every day. It’s so inspiring. Put it in front of a fuzz, man. It’s like a solar-storm inside of a cave.
