On all this video it's a pleasure to see Mick and Keith so involved and so friendly.
Fantastic album. Wonderful snare drum sound and incredible energy in the band. I wish they'd play more of it live these days, rather than the same old hits. Before recording my own album "Nama Time!", I had the sound technician listen to "This Place Is Empty", and I told him "That how I want you to capture my voice".

This album is fkn killer.
This by all accounts was a very good album. Street of Love, Rain Fall Down and Infamy (My Keef fav) do it for me.
I've been lucky enough to have seen the Stones twice, each time was amazing.
One of the things I think propelled the Stones into greatness aside from raw talent is they never abandoned their roots. They breezed through the psychedelic era babble babble musically unscathed. They always came back to what I love about this band, good old rock n roll, blues and R&B.
I just love the Stones. They are to me like the Beny Moré and Celia Cruz of rock n roll
You can really see how enthused and passionate Keith is about the new music here, such a shame we haven’t had an original album since

"You're Driving Too Fast" rocks hard.
MrD. Yeah I really like that one too, tucked away near the end, some vicious guitar licks from Keith. ( ps I read that his daughters 'banned' him from driving anywhere years ago. Sensible girls !! ) I like 'Biggest Mistake' a lot too, but it's all good.
“It won’t take long” is the best song of the album by far. “Stealing my heart” from “Forty Licks” is another great song. Unfortunately They have never played alive. The new album could be based on these songs and “Ghost Town”.
My favorite one is It Won't Take Long.

I was a baby at that time, don't even remember anything ! But I wish I'd meet them, I'd enjoy having a cig with Keith & Ronnie ! Not to mention that both are very talented musicians !

Hi ! I'm reading every mornings the book "The Stones by themselves", and I learn things everydays. For exemple, when they made Auditions to search a new Bassist, Ron Wood was always proposing to the guys if they didn't wanted a Guiness. But when Darryl Jones came in, Ron had just proposed a Beer, and Darryl Jones had answered "I'd like to have a Guiness !". They had immediatly thought "He's the one we're searching for", cause as they said, they "weren't searching for a good Bassist, (all the Bassists they had auditionned were good), but they were searching for someone who could live with guys like the Stones". A very interesting Band. I saw them just once, in 1981, but that show will stay in my mind for ever. CIAO BYE !
Yes it was Ronnie who acted as the 'Welcoming Committee' for the auditions, he's that kind of guy!! Mick and Keith then made Charie make the final pick though and he chose Daryl !

The Who,Dylan,Paul McCartney,All Starr Band,but and heres the kicker you can still see Donavon nice and intimate for around £30 now thats what i call a bargain,better than watching the stones from a telescope playing the 20 songs for average price £150,lost respect for the stones ,sold out to the working man

It's 2023 and the next album has arrived!
After a few careful listens, after an immediate, out of hand rejection of it. I heard everything that I love about Sticky Fingers, Let It Bleed, Exile (greatest album ever) and a couple of other albums, is on this album. I came to the conclusion that the final mix was done trying to avoid repeating familiar sounds. That, I think was a mistake. Like the 2 guitars on 'Can't You Hear Me Knockin' it's all on here but, the mixing obscured the individuality of the different lead trax. That left it unmemorable. 'Some Girls' DISC 2 Leaves this in the dust,.

I read Keith saying (about that hair thing) that certain friends were allowed to tie things into it when he fell asleep! He just left them in for the tour! haha. (Keith's hair over the decades is almost worth a book on it's own! )

Shame about the crap cover design on the sleeve. When you think about all the great Stones album covers of the past, A Bigger Bang is poor in comparison.
14 years now since they issued an album of new songs.......waaaaaay to long and disrespectful to your fans guys.....live show still awesome though
