  • Day two!
It's the second day of IRM's Diesel Days event and just like the first day, it did not disappoint. One of the more surprising things about today was that at the last minute, it was decided that recently acquired IRMX 30 would have the honors of leading the first train of the day and it's first train at the IRM, which was a real nice treat to see! Aside from that, the rest of the day wielded some great action along the IRM's mainline, including some throttle time sessions with CNW 7009 which had just regained it's CNW heralds all leading up to a spectacular finale with three F-Units and three Geeps tackling a combined Coach Train/Nebraska Zephyr consist, which was a sight to behold. But this weekend isn't over just yet. Enjoy!

The #30 lives on. It pulls its first train for the Illinois Railway Museum. C&NW #7009 has its C&NW heralds back. Both EMD RS1325s are preserved. Those are some mighty fine catches at IRM diesel days 2023.

Funny think happened with 1848 while coupling up, they got the air hoses together, but not the couplers, so it snapped. Took several tries just to get it up and running. Btw I was on the first train of the day, last run of the 9911A, caboose train with 2407,First run of bilevels, and the last train. Which I rode in the dynometer?? I forgot how to spell it lol

A combination of coupling a long locomotive with a short car, on a curve. No harm done, automatic air brake operated correctly, only damage was to the schedule.

I Highly agree! I don't know if it ever did before, but I would vote for the black widow scheme!
