      We would like to see comparison with Sym TL465 and Yamaha Xmax400. And compare comfort, storage underseat, consumption, maintenance intervals and ride at night frontlight illumination... these are amazing rides with relative weatherprotection and good ways to avoid traffic and parking sollutions. I still wonder why not more are getting on them. In Paris, thousends are on maxi scooters to avoid the traffic. Thanks for the nice review!!!

    Also forgot to mention a unique characteristic this scooter has, a lean angle of 43 degrees. Thats more than some motorcycles. I regularily do trips of 200 miles plus. If more bikers tried these scooters out i reckon they would want one. My son slagged me for having this untill i allowed him to borrow it to commute to work. I had problems getting it back.

    I encourage to try a 400cc maxiscooter. Went from Transalp and Africa Twin to Xmax-400 "midi" -maxiscooter. Much better weatherprotection, more comfort ride and underseat storage. And best of all, avoid traffic and parking problems in all cities. Thats why they are hugh popular in and around Paris. Only when heavy rain and in icy conditions; they are less adviced. But always rise defensive and wear plenty of visible fluo clothes. Ride safe.

    Thank you for this nice review. I love the looks and all the features of this scooter. The only thing that turns me off is the fact that the space under the seat is rather limited. I like scooters because they are practical. Honda is coming up with the Forza 350 and I feel that even if it will not be as strong as the xciting 400 it is a better option for me as I can store under the seat more things or even two helmets. My wife and I like to go for walks after a ride and it’s important to securely drop the helmets.
    The bmw 400 is also a scooter I am considering.

      If its for single use, you can go for the 300cc ones, but if its for duo use or for more highway and longer comutes or trips; i recomand the more 400cc range for ride comfort and not to "push" the engine to its limit. I drove the Kawa J300 and Xmax300 also. Comfy and nice, but you need to push their engines to much to cope with trafic at highwayspeed and not really suitable for duorides. Then the Xmax 400 , or Xciting s400 or Maxsym TL or Burgmann400 or BMW 400X/GT or much more suitable for that. We would love a comparison on them here😉😉😉.

      In comparison to the yamaha xmax, I think that yamaha made more effort in making a lot of underseat storage, almost to an excess amount. This kymco looks better, not as bulbous. It has some better features and the seat definitely looks more comfortable.
      I have to say though that yamaha xmax will hold its value and the fact that there are yamaha dealerships in just about every small city and bigger towns.

    I have a Forza 350 and am considering an ADV 350, but your review has certainly left me wondering what would be the best option.
    I like the Kymco spec but a bit disappointed it doesn't have keyless ignition and the storage is a bit limited. I thought the screen support frame was quite imposing on your visibility and it appeared that there was considerable vibration through the handlebars whilst riding, and the plastic handle bars cover looked a bit bulky and cheap.

    Gday. Great review. I am trying to decide between the Xmax 300 and this xciting. I am a little concerned about going with a brand I haven’t heard much about. I have to order the Xmax and wait but I have found a xciting in stock. Should i pull the trigger? Will it last??

    • @BikeMatters
      @BikeMatters  2 года назад +1

      Is it the Euro 5 Xciting, or Euro 4?
      You'd have to look up long term owner reviews on the on the Xciting for well it'll last. I would say the Yamaha would probably retain the higher resale value, and likely easier to get parts.

    How about the lighting at night? I drove Piaggio mp3 500 at night; its less good then the Xmax400 with new LED lighting; much better road visibility at night.
    And how about maintenance intervals?
    Thanks about the great videoreview.😆

      I can't compare against other maxis directly at this stage but thought it was pretty decent to be fair rode it in the dark a few times and got on well.
      Great questions, though you'd have to ask Kymco for service interval details.

      @krollpeter 4 года назад +2

      Burgman has the bigger underseat storage and the better automatic, feels somewhat more sporty.
      Xciting 400i is more modern looking, has the far superior brakes, and oozes even better build quality, feels somewhat more touring.
      Note: Not that there is anything wrong with the build quality of the Burgy 400, or the automatic of the Kymco. He's right, hard to decide since they are both of highest standards.

      Or, perhaps manufacturers will send us the good stuff one day. If they ever do, I’ll likely be too old to ride.
      On an unrelated note, I love that Kymco put the mirrors in the right place. I rented a Honda Forza in Portugal fro two weeks. The mirrors were less than useless, as they were mounted far forward (styling reasons I suspect) and I couldn’t see anything behind me unless I was on a curve.

      I just got mine yesterday, not sad nor am I happy. serious vibration when accelerating, there are two glove boxes that fully lock then steering lock is applied, left glove box has a usb charging point with waterproof rubber cover. every review I've come across is not of an owner, here in Italy you can find them used with less than 1500km, as quick as they are bought the owners want to sell them. would I ever buy another Kymco ? probably not, good looking bike as for noodoe it's a load of sh*t, you'll just keep using whats on the scooter as standard, the App is restricted. oh and it's top heavy you can feel how heavy the scooter is. I like it because it's 400cc Yamaha Tmax is for idiots with no brains and money to burn, 12k, you'd be far better with a motorcycle when spending that much
