- In this video, I quickly discuss both sites and what they have to offer as far as actual gameplay, depositing, and withdrawing money. If you guys have any questions or comments, then just let me know as always! Thanks guys
Having played on ACR, do you think it is possible to run up a bankroll starting from the micros and moving up to the mid and/or high stakes games? The reason why I asked is that for all of the players I've played against in the micros, I've never seen any of them move out of the micros.
I think it's certainly possible, but much tougher to do these days as players have become so much better at poker, specifically NLHE. As far as PLO goes, I think it's most likely much easier, but it's obviously a game with steeper swings and variance, which can hinder a player from moving up as quick. On the flip side there are probably players that move up quickly due to the fact that they can make a lot of money quickly in PLO, but then possibly catch a downswing and either bust or have to move down. Keys to moving up through stakes are bankroll management, an ability to improve both your mental and technical game off the table while still playing a lot of hands, and maybe most importantly the ability to understand how to beat your player pool. Always keep in mind what's relevant to your player pool and you will find more success as far as profiting off of them and being able to move up.
America's Card Room accepts your money by credit card with no requirements, but when you attempt to withdraw money they require the following:
A scanned image of the front side of your Driver's license.
A recent utility bill under your name
Plus, if you deposited with a credit card:
Signed Authorization form
Copy of the card (s) used to deposit
I actually haven't been on ACR in awhile as I have found Ignition to be superior in a few key aspects.
How would you say these sites are now? It's been a few months.
I miss the Full Tilt/Pokerstars days.
I haven't been using ACR. Wasn't too happy with the servers and games overall. Been playing ignition plo cash primarily and have been happy with how it has gone so far. To answer your other question, I have used Bitcoin previously and it worked out just fine. Haven't used it too often though, so don't have much of a sample to go off of. I miss them too!
Didn't really tell me anything. How about tournament structure, buy ins, bonuses, skins, software, etc?
I don't play on ACR at all anymore. Just ignition and pretty much exclusively cash games. The tournaments look like they have decent structures though and seem to get pretty good traffic. I think they have deposit bonuses, but I don't know a ton about those to be honest. Software seems clean to me though and I rarely have felt like there were any glitches or anything like that.
Can use Bitcoin on Ignition
is it plausible that there are a lot of bots on both of those rooms?
Yes and it's unfortunate that that could be the case, but I think on ignition I ran into a couple and just switched tables. On ACR I haven't seen anything yet to make me think I have played with any. Def possible though.
ArchCityPoker Seems like a silly question but how do you know if you are playing with a bot?
Not a silly question at all; I haven't run into too many, but in general they seem to play very systematically by taking a lot of time on each decision and by often betting very odd amounts that are often exact increments as far as specific bets like 1/3 pot, 2X pot, etc. I don't think they are a big issue right now as far what I have read about them and I'm not even sure they exist in the micro-low stakes games on the non regulated US sites.
I'll also add that when I mentioned "what I have read about them", that is actually as of about a week ago just because I was curious. Did some research and I don't think they are as prevalent as I thought they were.
If I am not a American citizen can I play American card room?
I'm not 100% sure which countries can and can't play on each American site. I'm sure if you look it up with a quick search you can find out!
Have you used bitcoin? Do you trust it?
i have and its very trustworthy, i use coinbase
PharaohsKingdom I've withdrawn money 3 times in 2 months and received it within 2 days and had it in my bank in another 2 days. Very fast and reliable. However,if u don't like risk, dont leave money on bitcoin very long. Its fluctuations are very extreme. I lost 8% by leaving it on there for a couple of days
AMERICAN CARD ROOM IS TO EXPENSIVE
any good poker player knows WPN is rigged real bad ! ignition/bovada way better. i go back to bodog in 2000 & by far way less bad beats. FYI i have over 1.350.000 recorded hands played @ WPN so i have played there a little bit in the past & if WPN offered me $100 for evey $10 i deposit i would turn it down in a heartbeat.
Fair enough Mike. I actually only play on Ignition now as I was having trouble with WPN server's and felt like I was always at a table with the same 5 Russian players. Thanks for the comments.
All poker sites are a complete scam. RNG? Yeah right.
